Solid Figure .PPTX - AutoRecovered

This document defines and describes various 3D solid figures: - Prisms, pyramids, spheres, cones, cylinders and cubes are described as 3D shapes with length, width, height, faces, edges and vertices. - Specific shapes are defined in more detail, such as prisms having two parallel congruent bases, cylinders having two circular bases, and spheres having a perfectly symmetrical surface. - Students are assigned an activity to make models of different solid figures and complete a worksheet identifying shapes.

Visualizing and

Describing Solid
Figures .
QUARTER 3 ,WEEK 5
Match correctly of what
solid figures does the
object belong.
Rectangular prism , Triangular prism , Sphere ,
Cylinder, Cube ,
Pyramid ,Cone
How You Define Solid
Figure
Solid Figure have three
dimentional (3D) figures.
They have length, width,
and height.Moreover, they
have faces edges and
vertices
Solid Figures

Prism ,Pyramid ,Sphere, Cone Cylinder Cube

Prism – is a polyhedron with two congruent parallel

bases, flat bases and the same cross section all along its
length.
Solid Figures
Prism ,Pyramid ,Sphere, Cone Cylinder Cube

Polyhedron – is a solid figure with flat polygonal faces, straight edges, and
sharp corners of vertices.
Ex: Cube , Rectangular Prism and Pyramid

Non Polyhedron – a solid figure that sides are not Polygon .

Ex. Cone , Sphere , and Cylinder.
Cube- a three
dimentional(length,
with,height) shapes which has
6 square faces with the same
size, 12 edges , 8 vertices

LENGTH OR EDGE
Rectangular Prism A solid 3
dimensional object which has six
faces, that are rectangles. It has the
same cross section along a length,
which, make it a prism. It is also a
"cuboid". It has 12 edges and 8
vertices .
LENGTH OR EDGE
Cone - is distinctive three
apex dimensional geometric figure
that has a flat surface pointed
towards the top .The painted
end of cone is called the apex ,
whereas the flat surface is
called the base.
Cylinder- is a solid figure
with two parallel congruent
circular base forme by a
curved
surface
curved surface , it has 2
edges no vertex .
Sphere- It has perfectly
symmetrical . All points on the
surface are the same distance "r"
from the center. It has no edges
or vertices or corners It has one
surface .(not a "face") as it isn't
flat)
Pyramid Is a polyhedron having a
base that is polygon and all other
faces that are triangles . The
number of faces equals the number
of sides of the base and number of
vertices . 5 faces /sides , 5 vertices
