WHAT IS MULTIMEDIA?
Multimedia is a broad term for
combining multiple media formats.
Whenever text, audio, images, animation,
video, and interactivity are combined
together, the result is multimedia.
THE
INTERNET
The following are some common examples of
multimedia resources:
→ PowerPoint or slide presentations
→ vlogs (video and blog)
→ infographics
→ video presentations
→ diagrams

These materials can be used in orally

presenting various types of information.
In choosing the multimedia resource to be used
for your oral presentation, it is helpful to ask
yourself some important questions:

1. What is the purpose of your presentation?

2. What type of details are you going to
deliver?
3. Who are your target viewers or listeners?
A. Giving Information
This could be done with the help of
PowerPoint presentations that
contain images and bulleted data
(e.g., names, dates, places,
definitions, and descriptions) about
a topic. Other multimedia elements
like sounds and videos may also be
inserted to this material.
A. Giving Information
Infographics (information and
graphics) are either print or
digital materials that you
can also use for this task. It
contains texts and illustrations
to represent relevant
information.
B. Giving Instructions

Video clips or presentations are effective

in providing the steps for a certain activity.
Through this, you can demonstrate the
procedures to your audience.
B. Giving Instructions

Diagrams and infographics could also help you in

this oral presentation. You
may use these resources in presenting certain
directions and processes from your
Science, Math, Arts, PE or TLE class.
C. Making Explanations
This task could be done with
the help of diagrams. Such
resource uses arrows, lines,
shapes, and other figures to
show the relationship
between or among the
words or ideas presented.
D. Personal Recount

Personal recount is the narration of events based on

someone’s own experience. This can be effectively
presented through a vlog, which is a popular medium on
social networking sites. You can use this format in
sharing your thoughts or feelings about certain
happenings in your life.
E. Factual Recount
Factual recount also pertains to narrating past
events, but the speaker is not necessarily a part of
such occurrence. This could be orally delivered
using video presentations, which show photos or
video clips of the actual scenario, the place where it
happened and the people who were involved. This
is commonly used in presenting news or current
events.
