What is Performance Management?

Performance management is a set of processes and


systems aimed at developing employees, so they
perform their job to the best of their ability.

The goal is to help employees build on skills that


enable them to perform better in their roles, reach
their potential, and boost their success while also
accomplishing the strategic goals of the
organization.

Five Stages of
Performance Management

Planning Phase
Work is outlined and expectations are set.

Monitoring Phase
Managers track employee performance and progress

Learning & Development Phase


Employees and managers fine-tune their knowledge & approach to
better suit the project needs.

Rating Phase
Employee’s performance evaluation.

Reward Phase
Recognition and award.

Process of setting goals, developing strategies, and outlining actions to achieve company goals using SMART
Strategy.

Specific. What do you want to accomplish? Why is this your goal? Specific

Measurable. The success toward meeting the goal can be measured. Answers the

Attainable. Goals are realistic and can be achieved in a specific amount of time and are
reasonable.

Learning & Development Phase
Involves management plan activities and initiative designed to improve & develop capabilities, continous learning and
support organizational goals and individual aspirations.

Training Program
Strengthen the skills that each employee needs to improve.

Mentoring & Coaching


Coaching focuses on specific skills development and performance improvement
through targeted guidance and feedback.

E-Learning
Online platforms, and digital learning tools have become increasingly
popular for delivering training & devt. initiatives.

Leadership & Development


Aim to enhance the skills and competencies of employees with
supervisory/managerial position.

Soft Skills Development


Such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability.
Rating Phase

Performance rating is the step in the work


measurement in which the direct report
observes the worker's performance and
records a value representing that
performance relative to the analyst's
concept of standard performance.
Reward Phase
Recognizing and rewarding good performance is
essential to the performance management process,
as well as an important part of employee
engagement opens a new window.

You can do this with a simple thank you, social


recognition, or a full-scale employee rewards
program that regularly recognizes and rewards
excellent performance in the organization.
Performance Competency Program
Performance Evaluation is defined as a formal and productive
procedure to measure an employee's work and results based on
their job responsibilities.

It also plays a direct role in providing periodic feedback to


employees, such that they are more self-aware in terms of their
performance metrics.
