What is a culture:
• Latin word Cultus means care
• French word Colere means to till
• Cult means Religious organization
• Edward B. Taylor (Anthropologist) published his book in 1871
name Primitive culture
• Culture is shaped by Religion.

Definition of Culture:
• Culture is a system of rules, norms, beliefs, language, morals,
clothes, law, custom, and practices.
• Culture is everything which is socially learned and shared by
the members of society.

Cultural Relativism:
• The function and meaning of a trait is relative to its cultural
setting.
• In other words right or wrong are culture specific. What is
considered moral in one society, may be considered immoral
in other society.
• No one has the right to judge other society’s culture.
