ALLITERATION

• Having stressed syllables with the same


sounds or sound group repeating at the
beginning of two or more word.

• Alliteration don’t always have to start with


the same letter. It only has to have the
same sound.
Where is alliteration used?
• Companies: to make brand name more
memorable.
Example: Krispy Kreme, Best Buy, Paypal

• Characters: to appeal to children and stand


out.
Example: Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck,
Spongebob Squarpants
• Phases
Example: Home Sweet Home,
Busy as a Bee, Good as Gold
• Poems: makes poems more
interesting, and accentuates
the rhythm.
Example: sleek seals, Dipping
diving, Strolling slowly
ASSONANCE

• Internal repetition of vowel sounds in words


close together.
Example:
• I made my way to the lake.
• The hat man.
• I don’t know what’s going on!
