WHAT IS CLOUD COMPUTING?

 definition: cloud computing is the

delivery of computing services over
the internet.
 the term cloud refers to a network or
the internet. it is a technology that
uses remote servers on the internet to
store, manage, and access data online
rather than local drives. the data can
be anything such as files, images,
documents, audio, video, and more.
 cloud computing is a virtualization-based technology
that allows us to create, configure, and customize
applications via an internet connection. the cloud
technology includes a development platform, hard
disk, software application, and database.
 Cloud computing is a way to use computers, storage,
and other services over the internet instead of on your
own devices. Instead of buying and maintaining your
own hardware, you can access things like data storage,
software, and processing power from cloud providers
(like Google or Amazon). It’s like renting space and
tools online to run programs, store files, or host
websites, without needing to manage the physical
machines yourself. This makes it easier and cheaper to
scale up or down based on what you need.
 •example: amazon web services, microsoft azure,
google cloud,etc.
Benefits of cloud
computing
 Cost Savings Reduce capital expenditure
on hardware and IT infrastructure. Pay-as-
you-go models offer significant cost
advantages, especially for scaling up or
down based on fluctuating needs.
 Scalability and Flexibility Easily scale
resources up or down based on demand.
This is crucial for businesses with
fluctuating workloads or seasonal peaks,
ensuring optimal performance without
overspending on idle resources
 Increased Efficiency Automate tasks,
streamline workflows, and reduce manual
intervention, freeing up valuable time and
resources for other strategic initiatives.
• PUBLIC CLOUD
• PRIVATE CLOUD
• HYBRID CLOUD
• COMMUNITY CLOUD
PUBLIC CLOUD
A computing model that provides IT resources, such as storage,
networking, and servers, over the internet. These resources are
shared by individuals and organizations who can purchase or
use them. They offer scalability and flexibility, making them
ideal for many businesses. Example: AWS(Amazon Web
Services)
The public cloud provider supplies the infrastructure needed to
host and deploy workloads in the cloud. It also offers tools and
services to help customers manage cloud applications, such as
data storage, security and various monitoring and reporting
capabilities.
Example:AWS(Amezon Web Services)

PRIVATE
CLOUD
A private cloud is a cloud computing deployment model where all
cloud resources are dedicated to a single customer or user
organization.

Private cloud, sometimes called internal private cloud or corporate

cloud, provides many benefits of cloud computing environments,
including scalability, flexibility, and faster service delivery. At the
same time, private clouds are single-tenant, allowing customers to
maintain the same level of security, access control, and
customization they had with on-premises infrastructure.
Example: Microsoft Azure

 Enhanced Security and Control

 Customization
HYBRID CLOUD
Hybrid clouds combine public and private clouds, bound together by
technology that allows data and applications to be shared between
them. This model gives businesses
more deployment options, flexibility, and optimized infrastructure,
security, and compliance .
Hybrid cloud solutions enable you to migrate and manage workloads
between these various cloud environments, allowing you to create more
versatile setups based on your specific business needs.
Example:AWS outposts, Azure stack

Better Control Cost-effective Limitations

Low visibility and control
Additional complexity
Compliance and legal risks
 Cost concerns
COMMUNITY CLOUD
A community cloud is a cloud computing model in which the
infrastructure is shared among several organizations with similar
requirements and interests, often belonging to the same
community, industry, or regulatory group. These organizations
typically have common objectives, security concerns, or compliance
needs.
The community cloud can be managed internally by one of the
organizations, or by a third-party provider, and it can be hosted on-
site or externally. This model enables organizations to benefit from
the scalability and flexibility of cloud computing while maintaining
specific controls over data and resources, tailored to their shared
concerns.
Example: Government
Cost effective
Flexible and Scalable
 Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is a cloud
computing service model that provides
virtualized computing resources over the
internet.
 With IaaS, businesses and individuals can
rent infrastructure components such as virtual
machines (VMs), storage, networking, and
operating systems on a pay-as-you-go basis,
without the need to buy or maintain physical
hardware.
 IaaS is attractive because acquiring
computing resources to run applications or
store data the traditional way requires time
and capital.
 Organizations must purchase equipment
through procurement processes that can take
months. They must invest in physical spaces,
 Platform as a Service (PaaS) is a complete
cloud environment that includes everything
developers need to build, run, and manage
applications—from servers and operating
systems to all the networking, storage,
middleware, tools, and more.
 PaaS helps businesses avoid the hassle and
cost of installing hardware or software to
develop or host new custom applications.
 Development teams simply purchase pay-
as-you-go access to everything they need to
build custom apps, including infrastructure,
development tools, operating systems, and
more.
 The result is simpler, faster, and secure app
development that gives developers the
freedom to focus on their application code.
 SaaS (Software as a Service) is a cloud-
based service where instead of
downloading software on your desktop PC
or business network, you access an
application via an internet browser.
 The software is hosted on external servers
and managed by the service provider.
 SaaS users subscribe to an application
rather than purchasing it once and
installing it.
 Users can log into and use a SaaS
application from any compatible device
over the Internet. The actual application
runs in cloud servers that may be far
removed from a user's location
 The SaaS (Software as a Service) model
enhances business efficiency in several
