2.2.3 Line 8 UTO Trial
Line 8 stage-II UTO operations.
The competent authority has accorded approval to implement Stage-II UTO operations in JPW-BCGN section of
Line-8 w.e.f 17.08.2024. In the said stage, RA shall be available anywhere in the train (preferably near first car, in
the direction of travel).
For implementation of Stage-III UTO operation , the document is already submitted.

Line 7 stage-I UTO operations

UTO train trial is being carried out in Line-07 during revenue hours (0800 hrs-2000 hrs) for checking readiness for
UTO operation on all Sundays w.e.f. 25th August 2024 and on every Saturday & Sunday ( full day ) w.e.f 30th
November 2024
For implementation of Stage-I UTO operation, next trial document shall be submitted to CMRS

UTO trials on Line-7 will be executed in a staged manner, analogous to Line-8

DMRC PARTICIPATES IN THE NATIONWIDE ‘SWACHHATA HI SEVA’ CAMPAIGN TO PROMOTE CLEANLINESS AROUND
METRO PREMISES
 DMRC actively participated in the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva' initiative on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Swachh
Bharat Mission
 Participated in ‘shram daan’ at about 110 locations to support the ‘Jan Andolan’ movement for a cleaner India.
 DMRC has adopted 70 Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs) outside its premises near Metro stations, depots and
residential colonies.
 MD DMRC , shared a video message across the metro network urging passengers to actively participate in the
‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign.

DELHI METRO CELEBRATED CYBER SECURITY AWARENESS MONTH 2024
 DMRC observed Cyber Security Awareness Month 2024 this
October.
 On 8th Oct’24 Lt. Gen. M. U. Nair, National Cyber Security
Coordinator, delivered a “Leadership Address” role of cyber
security in safeguarding urban transport systems like Delhi Metro
from online threats.
 MD, DMRC and other senior officers were also present on the
occasion

officials and promote research in cyber security
 Forum to be created to hold a discussion with cyber security
officers from other metro systems

METRO SERVICES STARTED FROM 03:15 AM TO FACILITATE THE PARTICIPANTS OF VEDANTA DELHI HALF MARATHON
ON 20TH OCTOBER 2024 (SUNDAY)
 Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon held on 20th Oct’ 24 at Jawaharlal Nehru
Stadium
 Delhi Metro train services begins from 03.15 AM from terminal stations
of all Lines except the Airport Express Line and Grey Line.
 The event organizer sponsored the cost of travel for to and fro moment
to the event venue for the participants of Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon
2024.
 For this DMRC has provided required number of QR tickets as per the
applicable Metro fare
 In total 5349 people travelled

Delhi Metro Shines at the Urban Mobility India Expo in Gandhinagar organised by MoHUA; Showcases Innovations in
Urban Mobility and bags first prize in Exhibitor Category
DMRC made a significant impact at the Urban Mobility India Expo in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
On the inaugural day 25th Oct’24, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Sh. Bhupendra Patel visited the DMRC stall, where MD
DMRC received him and showcased Delhi Metro's cutting-edge technologies.
The highlights of the visit included a live demo of the driverless Metro train operation and an in-depth look at India's sole
high-speed Airport Express Line, which operates at an impressive 120 km/h.
Sh. Manohar Lal, Hon'ble Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, GOI also visited the exhibition & had a first hand
experience of driving a metro train on simulator at the DMRC exhibition.
DMRC was also awarded with the first prize in the Best Exhibitor category by the Hon’ble Minister.

DMRC OBSERVES VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK; ORGANISES A NUMBER OF EVENTS
 DMRC observed the 'Vigilance Awareness Week 2024‘ from
the 28thOct 2024 to 3rd Nov 2024.
 Nukkad Nataks, quiz show, slogan and essay writing
competition, lectures on topics pertaining to vigilance etc
were also organised.
 In the concluding ceremony, DMRC's Chief Vigilance Officer,
Sh. Hirendra Singh Rana elaborated on the number of
initiatives being taken to bring in integrity, transparency and
efficiency within the organisation. The function was attended
by all the Directors and senior officers.

QR CODE BASED TRADE FAIR TICKETS WAS AVAILABLE ON DELHI METRO APP, MoU SIGNED BETWEEN DMRC AND
ITPO Value
 On 8th Nov’24 DMRC and India Trade Promotion Organization ITPO signed a
MoU wherein helping commuters in buying QR tickets online for the IITF
through Delhi Metro App- DMRC Delhi Sarthi/ DMRC Momentum 2.0 and
Bharat Mandapam App.
 The India International Trade Fair (IITF) scheduled from 14th to 27th Nov’ 24
at Bharat Mandapam (Pragati Maidan).
 The MoU was signed by Shri Rakesh Chandra Sharma, General Manager
(IT)/ITPO and GM/Tele, DMRC in the presence of Director (Operations &
Services), DMRC and Sh. Premjit Lal, Executive Director, ITPO.
 In total at 55 metro stations IITF tickets were available from 14.11.2024

DMRC'S MANAGING DIRECTOR KUMAR BESTOWED WITH IGBC SENIOR FELLOW TITLE FOR OUTSTANDING
CONTRIBUTION TO THE GREEN BUILDING MOVEMENT IN INDIA
 DMRC's MD, has been conferred with the prestigious IGBC Senior Fellowship by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) in
its 22nd Congress, being held at Bangalore. The title was bestowed on 15th Nov’24 as he has actively supported the green
building movement in India.
 This is in recognition to his contribution to promote the cause of green infrastructure not only in DMRC but also in various
Indian Metros, under operation.
 In 2014, DMRC and IGBC collaborated to create the World’s First Green Certification norm specifically for Mass Rapid Transit
Systems (MRTS)
 The efforts to initiate a green culture across Metro systems in India has already started with collaborative efforts between
different Metros and the IGBC.

INTEGRATED QR-TICKETING SYSTEM BY NCRTC AND DMRC GOES LIVE, COMMUTERS CAN NOW BOOK TICKETS FOR
NAMO BHARAT AND METRO SERVICES SIMULTANEOUSLY
 DMRC & NCRTC officially launched their integrated QR-ticketing system on
18th Nov’24. MD, DMRC and Shri Shalabh Goel, MD NCRTC officially
launched this integrated ticketing
 Seamless ticketing across the RRTS and Delhi Metro systems by booking
Namo Bharat QR code tickets through the 'DMRC Sarthi (Momentum 2.0)'
app and Delhi Metro QR code tickets via the 'RRTS Connect' app.
 This step is a part of DMRC’s ongoing ‘Ease of Booking’ initiative through
digitalization emphasizing multiple modes of ticket booking, multiple fare
media, and multiple payment options.

DMRC SIGNS MOU WITH ASI FOR SALE OF MONUMENT TICKETS ON MOMENTUM 2.0 DELHI SARTHI-सारथी APP
 DMRC signed a MoU with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on 20th Nov’24, to enable the sale of ASI
monument tickets through DMRC’s ‘Momentum 2.0 Delhi Sarthi- सारथी’ mobile application.
 The MoU was signed in the presence of MD, DMRC and Sh. Anand Madhukar, Additional Director General
(Admin), ASI.
 DMRC will jointly develop and implement an integrated QR-based ticketing system that allows seamless access to
Delhi Metro services and entry to selected centrally protected monuments managed by ASI.
 For increase awareness among tourists DMRC will integrate ASI’s ticketing system into its app and provide space
for standees featuring historical information about various monuments at designated metro stations

DELHI METRO’S FILM SCREENED IN INDIAN PANORAMA AT THE 55TH INDIA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, GOA
 The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation's film, 'Pillars of Progress: The Epic
Story of Delhi Metro', was screened at the 55th International Film Festival
of India (IFFI) in Goa on 26th Nov’24.
 The 30 min film was screened in the prestigious Indian Panorama under
non-feature film category.
 ‘ Pillars Of Progress’ tells the inspiring story of the Delhi Metro's creation,
a testament to determination and innovation.
 DMRC in the past has won two national awards for its films titled- ' The
dream Fulfilled-Memories of the Engineering
Challenges' and Surmounting Challenges- an Incredible Tale of Time'.

Action Taken for Prevention
• HoD level Committee was nominated for identifying the theft prone
areas and suggest measures to prevent theft incidences in DMRC.
• Based on the recommendations of the committee report following
actions are being taken:
1. CSC has written a letter to Commissioner, Delhi Police on 05.12.2024.
2. Pilot project for Drone based monitoring has been taken up at L-1.
3. Anti-Theft Clamp installation work is in testing phase. Sample is to be tested by
15-Dec 2024 at L-5. After successful completion, work will be done on theft prone
locations.
4. Locations identified for Installation of Concertina Coil in theft prone areas at all
lines. Work done between Shastri Park-Seelampur Section; Dwarka Sub City
section (DSN-DST, DSE-DSW, DSTN-DSFN).
5. Cementing over cables done at Line-1 between Dilshad Garden and Jhilmil.
6. Camera installed at Line-1 (Welcome to Seelampur) & Line-2 (Jahangirpuri to
Haiderpur Badli Mor).
7. PoC of Camera BOSCH Starlight having advance surveillance platform for mission
Cementing over cables at Line-1 between Cable Tray Cover installation at Line-1 between
Dilshad Garden and Jhilmil. Shahdara and Shastri Park.
Concertina Coil installed at L-1 from Concertina Coil installed at L-3 in Dwarka

5.2 Drone Defense System
 Work order for Proof of Concept for deployment of Drone Defense System for Asset
protection at Line-1 awarded to M/s Data Digi Technologies on 29.11.2024.

 Implementing technology based solution, when activated will provide surveillance &
target tracking over the affected segment of the track.

 Demonstration of asset protection through deployment of drone defence system


between Kashmere Gate and Jhilmil stations at Line-1.

 Preliminary Drone flight operation for route survey between Kashmere Gate and
Welcome has been done on 10.12.2024.

 Drones are tentatively located at Shastri Park Depot.

 GPS Mapping of metro rail track/route is under progress. Later this mapping will be
linked with Signalling Track Circuit locations.

 Test flight is planned during night hours in the target section.

5.3 Block Management Application (BMA)
 Block Management Application is implemented in all Lines with
existing Hardware.

 To be migrated to dedicated servers on getting delivery of hardware.

 PTW issuing of Line-8 are done through BMA & hard copy both so as to
check if the system developed is at par with the existing working
procedures before launching it on all the lines. Remaining Lines PTW
issue system is ready for implementation.

 Tabs and Laptops delivered. Server delivery expected by


20.12.2024.

 Target to commission Server is: 31.12.2024, migration of system on new


hardware will be done thereafter.
5.4 Indigenisation of Tuning Units (TU) installed on Line-5&6
 Bharat Electronic Limited (BEL) in coordination with DMRC has developed Tuning units
for Signalling system installed in Line-5 & 6.

 Development: BEL developed 12 TUs of specific frequency F1, F2, F5 & F6 (03 each
for specific frequencies).

 Testing: BEL-TUs were tested on mainline (L-5 at City Park & L-6 at Ballabhgarh) for a
period of 3 months (7th June- 6th Sep 2024).

 Performance :- Out of 12 TUs, 3 TUs (01 each of F1, F2 and F5) were found faulty
within two week time, representing a failure rate of 25%.

 A Meeting was held with BEL team on 18-11-2024 to fine-tune the delivered
TUs to meet the required performance standards . Transformer and Inductors
used in M/s ATIL make TU are of customized nature. M/s BEL is facing
challenges in fine tuning these customized components to meet the
performance requirements.
5.5 TACHOMETER REPAIR/OVERHAULING on Line 5&6
 Work of Tachometer Overhauling/Repair awarded to M/s Hasler for
repair/overhaul of 284 tachometers corresponding to Phase-II commissioned trains
on Line 5&6.

 LOA Issued: On 06.09.2024.

 Work Completion Duration is 54 Months (6 months lead time & subsequent 48


months when actual repair/overhaul work will be carried out)followed by 12 months
DLP period.

 Schedule is as follows:
 Kick off Meeting conducted on : 08.11.2024
 1st lot to be handed over to vendor: Mid-February 2025
 1St lot to be overhauled & handed back to DMRC: April 2025
 This work shall be carried out in lots on quarterly basis over the 4 Years duration
i.e. up to March 2029.
 284 numbers of Tachometers to be taken up on priority identified, and
will be completed by march 2029.
5.6 Order from BMRCL to provide IDMS solution on nomination basis
 LOA for implementation of Integrated Data Management System Solution received from
Bangalore Metro on 07.11.2024 at the cost of INR 2.55 Crores ( all inclusive).

 Timeline for the implementation of solution after fixing requirements jointly: 300 days.

 The DLP period is of 18 Months after satisfactory implementation.

 Discussions started to get the documents from BMRCL. Hardware procurement will be
finalized on receiving the final documentation and fixing the requirement.

 Timelines & Action plan will be finalized in coordination with the consultancy wing.

 At present a visit is being planned to get the necessary data from the BMRCL
and to understand the requirement better before starting development of the
system.

 Minimum four months period required for developing and testing the solution.
