Learning Outcome
SECTION 3A-5h: BUILDING DRAWING

• appreciate various Roof types that can be utilized in designing

• prepare working drawings of roof anchorage systems utilizing hurricane


clips/straps, J bolts... (To be done in a separate presentation)

• prepare working drawings of roofs showing truss details (simple


contemporary timber trusses) (To be done at a separate presentation)

• preparing working drawings showing open and closed eaves; eave details. (To
be done at a separate presentation)

• Many types, but only reviewing a few for CSEC TD syllabus


Evaluation
You will be required to design a roof for the floor plan that you
worked on earlier.

1. Flat Roof – pitch of 10◦ or less
PITCH ROOFS – more than 10◦
2. Lean-To-Roof or ( Shed Roof ) pitch more than 10◦
3. GABLE : pitch between 10◦ & 70◦
