Problem Statement

Society/Industry Problem Identified:

The rapid adoption of electric vehicles highlights critical challenges such as
ensuring battery safety, preventing overheating, detecting hazardous gas leaks, and
providing emergency assistance, necessitating innovative solutions for reliability
and user safety.

Problem to be Addressed

 Battery Monitoring Challenges:

 Ensuring real-time tracking of battery health, charge levels, and temperature to

prevent overheating and performance issues.

 Lack of predictive maintenance systems leading to unexpected battery failures and

reduced lifespan.
2
Problem Statement
 Safety Risks:
 Undetected hazardous gas leaks pose serious dangers to passengers, vehicles, and
the surrounding environment.
 Absence of automated mechanisms to respond immediately to gas leaks or other
safety-critical events.
 Emergency Communication Gaps:
 Limited or no integration of automated alerts to inform designated contacts during
emergencies.
 Lack of precise location sharing for swift emergency assistance in case of critical
incidents.
 Integrated Solution Deficiency:
 Current systems fail to offer a comprehensive approach that combines real-time
monitoring, predictive analysis, and safety response mechanisms.

3
Proposed Solution
To address the identified challenges, an IoT-based integrated solution is proposed
for real-time monitoring, predictive analysis, and automated emergency response
in electric vehicles (EVs). The system includes the following key features:

• Real-Time Monitoring: Continuous tracking of battery health, charge levels, and

temperature to ensure safe and optimal operation.
• Gas Leak Detection and Automatic Response: Instant detection of hazardous gas leaks,
triggering automatic vehicle shutdown to prevent accidents and minimize risks.
• Emergency Communication System: Automated alerts with real-time vehicle location
sent to designated contacts and emergency services in case of critical incidents.
• AI-Driven Predictive Maintenance: Advanced analysis of battery health trends to
predict potential failures and provide actionable insights for proactive maintenance.
• User-Friendly Web Platform: An AI-powered platform for monitoring EV performance,
receiving safety alerts, and accessing battery health analytics for better decision-making.

This solution aims to enhance EV safety, reliability, and user confidence,

contributing to a smarter and safer transportation ecosystem.

SDG’s Covered

1. Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure :

Our project utilizes IoT technology and Microcontroller systems to enhance the
safety and efficiency of electric vehicles (EVs). By integrating smart sensors for
battery monitoring, temperature tracking, gas leak detection, and GPS, we enable
real-time monitoring and remote management. This innovation fosters a tech-
driven infrastructure in the automotive industry, enhancing vehicle safety,
performance, and maintenance through data-driven insights.

2. Responsible Consumption and Production :

The system promotes resource efficiency by ensuring optimal battery health and
preventing premature replacements. It also helps in efficient resource
management, reducing energy and material waste. With real-time gas leak
detection and battery monitoring, the project minimizes environmental impact,
ensuring sustainable practices and extending the life cycle of EV components.
