What is a Sentence
Fragment

 A Sentence Fragment is a phrase or clause missing a


verb, subject, or is not expressing a complete thought.
For example, because he did not go to school.
Identifying Sentence

Some sentence fragments


contain a subject but no Example: The man
verb, so readers are across the street.

Conjunction

 A subordinating conjunction is used to introduce a dependent clause


(not a sentence). It is used for creating a complex sentence consisting
of an independent clause (complete sentence) and a dependent clause
(not a sentence)

 Example: While they completed their labs.



 A relative pronoun introduces a dependent clause
(not a sentence) and connects it to a complete
sentence. The most common relative pronouns are It begins with a
who, whom, whose, that, and which. relative pronoun
 Example:That he studied for all week.
