Add or Create New
Creating a new assembly and adding components to it in Siemens NX involves several
steps.

What is Move Component?
In Siemens NX, you can move components within an assembly using various methods and
commands.

 Using the Move Object Command

 Move with the Drag and Drop Method
 Move with the Move Object Command
 Use the Move Object Dialog Box
 Apply the Move
 Constraints and Relationships
Pattern Component
In Siemens NX, you can create patterns of components within an assembly to replicate and
arrange them in various ways. NX provides several options for creating component patterns,
including linear patterns, circular patterns, and more.

 Open Your Assembly

 Select the Component to Pattern
 Access the Pattern Command
 Configure the Pattern Type
 Set Pattern Parameters
• Linear Pattern: Specify the distance and direction (e.g., along an axis).
• Circular Pattern: Define the center, axis, and angle to create a circular pattern.
 Preview and Confirm

What is Mirror Assembly?
In Siemens NX, mirroring an assembly involves creating a mirrored version of an entire
assembly or selected components within an assembly.

 Open Your Assembly

 Select Components to Mirror
 Access the Mirror Command
 Configure the Mirror Plane
 Specify Additional Options
 Preview and Confirm
Assembly Constraints
In Siemens NX, assembly constraints are used to define how components within an
assembly are positioned and behave relative to one another. These constraints control the
geometric relationships, motion, and interaction between components.

 Open Your Assembly

 Activate the Assembly Environment
 Select the Components
 Access the Constraint Command
 Define the Constraint Type
 Configure the Constraint Parameters
 Preview and Confirm

Touch Align
Touch Align in Siemens NX is a feature that allows you to quickly and precisely align two
components or faces in an assembly. It is particularly useful when you need to align or mate
two components without creating explicit constraints or mating relationships. Touch Align
essentially lets you interactively position and align components in an assembly.
Concentric
In Siemens NX, "Concentric" is a constraint used to specify that two circular or cylindrical
features must share the same center point or axis. This constraint ensures that the selected
circular features remain aligned concentrically in an assembly. You can apply the Concentric
constraint to components such as shafts, bearings, gears, and any other parts that need to
be concentrically aligned.
Distance
In Siemens NX, the "Distance" constraint is used to specify the distance between two points,
faces, or features in an assembly. It ensures that the selected components or features
maintain a specific separation distance in the assembly.
Fix
In Siemens NX, the "Fix" constraint is used to lock or immobilize a component or specific
degrees of freedom of a component within an assembly. When you apply the Fix constraint,
the selected component or degrees of freedom become fixed, and they cannot move or
rotate. This is commonly used to represent immovable objects or to temporarily restrict
movement during assembly design.
Parallel
In Siemens NX, the "Parallel" constraint is used to specify that two faces or edges of
components in an assembly must remain parallel to each other. This constraint ensures that
the selected faces or edges maintain the same orientation, even if other geometric changes
are made to the assembly.
Perpendicular
In Siemens NX, the "Perpendicular" constraint is used to specify that two faces, edges, or
lines in an assembly must remain perpendicular to each other. This constraint ensures that
the selected geometric entities maintain a 90-degree angle relative to each other, even if
other changes are made to the assembly.

Exploded View

In Siemens NX, you can create an exploded view to visually represent how the
components of an assembly are disassembled or separated from each other. This
is useful for assembly instructions, documentation, or to illustrate how parts come
together or come apart
