What is
HYPERLOOP?
• Hyperloop is a transportation system
using capsules supported by an air-
bearing surface within a low-pressure
tube.
• Hyperloop is a completely new mode of
fastest transportation. Hyperloop is firstly
proposed by Elon Musk & his team.
• Hyperloop is magnetically levitated train
which runs inside a long tube. The tube
needs a system to keep air from building
up in this way.
• Hyperloop is currently in development by
a number of companies, which could see
passenger travelling at 700 miles/hour.
TUBE:-
The tube is made of steel. Two tubes
T
will be welded in a side by side
configuration to allow the capsules to
travel both direction.
Pylons are placed every 100ft (30 m)
to support the tube.
COMPRESSOR:-
Compressor is placed at the front
part of the capsule.
Compressor fans sucks the low
pressure air. After compression,
compressed air is supplied to the
air bearings & also at the rear
end of the capsule.
CAPSULE:-
Capsules are used to carry passengers
C
& goods.
These capsule are shaped
aerodynamically to reduce the drag.
Capsules consists of linear induction
motor under the hood. Compressor at
the front & air bearing at the bottom.
Capsules are designed with latest
technologies & houses new form of
gadgets for the comfort.
PROPULSION:-
P
Capsule houses liner induction
motor along the length to
accelerate & decelerate.
Linear stators are placed on the
capsules to transfer momentum
to the capsule via linear
accelerators.
POWER SOURCE:-
The main resource for the power is
solar energy.
Solar arrays are placed along the
length of the tube.
Necessary battery arrangements are
made to store the energy to operate
at night & in cloudy weather
SUSPENSION:-
S
Air bearings are used as
suspension for the capsules.
Air bearings can also be used
to levitate the capsule with the
help of compressed air that
flows from compressor toair
bearings.
• Hyperloop works on the principle of Magnetic
WORKING Levitation.
• The capsules moves in the low pressure pylon
supported tube.
• The low pressure air is sucked by the
compressor, Converts it into high pressured air &
ejects it through the air bearings & at rear end
nozzles to get extra forward.
PRESENT WORKS
• Presently Hyperloop concepts
was for route between San
Francisco, California & Los
Angeles in 35 minutes. In India
there are many metro cities like
Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore,
Chennai & Pune with huge
population. In 2017 Maharashtra
government proposed a route
between Mumbai-Pune, which
will take 20-25 minutes to cover
distance of 140km.
• Hyperloop is a modern advance
transportation technology. Since the
system is in its rudimentary and
developing stage has too many problems.
Many worldwide companies are
FUTURE
interested to invest in Hyperloop system.
I. Improve the passenger capacity.
II. Detailed station designs with loading &
WORKS III.
unloading of goods & passenger.
It can be used in material handling
devices.
IV. Hyperloop will fulfill the increase
demand od transportation by reducing
traffic congestion.
CONCLUSION
• A high speed transportation system
known as Hyperloop has been
developed in this seminar.
• Hyperloop transportation system
can be used over the conventional
modes of transportation that are
rail, road, water & air.
• At high speed it provides better
comfort and cost is also low
