Email Protocol

Email Protocols:
•SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol):
•Function: SMTP is used for sending emails from a client to a mail server, or
between mail servers.

•Example: When you click "Send" in your email client, SMTP handles the

process of sending the email to the recipient's server.

•POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3):

•Function: POP3 is used for retrieving emails from a mail server and

downloading them to your email client.

•Example: When you access your email in your email client (e.g., Outlook,

Gmail), POP3 downloads the emails from the server to your device.

•Note: POP3 downloads emails to the client and often deletes them from

the server after download.

•Function: IMAP is used for accessing and managing emails on a mail server,

allowing you to view and manage your emails from multiple devices.

•Example: Using IMAP, you can access your emails from your phone, tablet,

and computer, and they will appear synchronized across all devices.

•IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol):

•Note: IMAP keeps emails on the server, allowing access from different

devices.
