Secularism

Secularism is a framework that seeks to balance freedom of and from religion with other rights, advocating for the separation of religious institutions from state institutions, the freedom to practice or change one's beliefs, and equality among differing beliefs. It emphasizes that personal ethical preferences should not be imposed on others and that no particular belief system should be privileged or discriminated against. The term 'secular' refers to being religiously neutral, although its interpretation can vary.
