PHYSICS LABORATORY
BRIEFING
 Lab sessions will be conducted physically (face to face) in the Physics Laboratory.
 All students are compulsory to attend all 4 lab sessions in this semester (Semester 2).
 Each class is divided into groups (5 – 7) which consist of 4 or 5 members per group.
 There are 7 experiments provided in the lab manual book, but each group require to run four (4)
experiments (all semi-guided lab sessions)
 All apparatus for all 7 experiments are available at the side bench in the laboratory.
 Each group is required to choose only 1 experiment to be presented during LAB PRESENTATION SESSION
 All students are required to purchase the lab manual physics book on the Week 1 (15/1 – 19/1) and Week
2 (22/1 – 26/1) from their lab instructors.
 Please refer to the Academic Calendar as attached.

LABORATORY ASSESSMENT
Total Assessment (20%) :

1. Laboratory Direct Observation (10%): Each students will be observed/assessed during the laboratory practical.

2. Laboratory Presentation (10%): Each students will be observed/assessed during the grouping presentation in the laboratory
together with the reports.

LABORATORY ATTENDANCE :

 It is COMPULSORY for students to attend each laboratory session without fail.


 Any MEDICAL CONDITIONS or EMERGENCIES, such as death etc required a medical certificate (MC) if student is unable to attend
the lab session. It is important to inform the lab instructor about the absence a.s.a.p and need to replace the session afterwards.
 You may REPORT to the laboratory instructor if any of your group members does not give full cooperation during laboratory
preparations and experiments.

❑ Ensure safety environment/surrounding and avoid dangerous attempt during experiment in the
laboratory.

LABORATORY PHYSICS MANUAL BOOK
 The PHY098 laboratory manual book can be purchased from respective
laboratory instructors at RM 8.00 each on week 1 and week 2.

LABORATORY REPORT
 Each group must submit only 1 report for each experiment.
 Total reports to be submitted by each group for all laboratory sessions are
4 reports.
 All reports are required to be digitalized (softcopy) or to be printed
(hardcopy) depending on your lab instructor.
 Lab report submission deadline is ONE Week after the date of each
experiment.
