INTRODUCTION

 Fuzzy logic is a form of many-valued logic; it deals with


reasoning that is approximate rather than fixed and exact.
 The term fuzzy refers to things that are not clear or are vague.
 In the Boolean system truth value 1.0 represent the absolute true
value and 0.0 represent the absolute false value. But in fuzzy
logic , there is an intermediate value present which is partially
true and partially false.
Architecture
HISTORY

 Fuzzy logic was first proposed by LOTFI ZADEH in a 1965 paper


for the journal information and control.

 In his paper titled “fuzzy set” ZADEH attempted to reflect the kind
of data used in information processing and derived the elemental
logic rules for this kind of set.
In 1974 Mamdani and Assilian used fuzzy logic to regulate a steam
engine.
In 1985 researchers at Bell laboratories developed the first fuzzy
logic chip.
Fuzzy logic was made practically useful in Japan in the 1990.

 Flexible.
 Easy to understand

 Easy to implement machine learning techniques.
 Helps you to mimic the logic of human thought.
 Logic may have two values which represents two possible solutions.
 Highly suitable method for uncertain or approximate reasoning.
DRAWBACK

 Fuzzy logic is not always accurate.


 The result are perceived as a guess , so it may not be as widely trusted.
 Fuzzy logic control may not scale well to large or complex problem.
 Fuzzy logic can be easily confused with probability
CONCLUSION

Fuzzy logic can be used to represent some kinds of human


expertise . The control stability, reliability, efficiency, and
durability of fuzzy logic makes it popular
