愛德華六世（英語：Edward VI；1537年10月12日—1553年7月6日），英格蘭與愛爾蘭國王，1547年1月28日即位，同年2月20日加冕時，年僅九歲。他是亨利八世和珍·西摩的兒子，為都鐸王朝第三任君主，也是英格蘭首位「真正信奉新教」的統治者。[1]1553年因病去世時，尚未成年，故内政在其在位期间均由攝政議會管理。议会首先由他的舅父萨默塞特伯爵愛德華·西摩主持，後由诺森柏兰公爵約翰·杜德利接任。

愛德華統治時期，英格蘭飽受經濟和社會问题所擾，終在1549年爆發暴動和叛亂。在與蘇格蘭的戰役中，英格蘭最初取得優勢，但最後自當地和濱海布洛涅大舉撤軍。愛德華任内，亦加強了安立甘宗（英國國教）改革。在亨利八世時期，英國國教會雖脫離天主教，但他始終沒有宣佈廢除天主教教義或儀式。愛德華首度將新教義的安立甘宗正式定為英格蘭王國國教，廢除彌撒和神職人員的獨身制度，並在英格蘭徵兵，實施義務役。這次改革是由坎特伯雷大主教托馬斯·克蘭麥設計的，由其編著的《公禱書》沿用至今。

1553年，染上肺病的愛德華得知已藥石無效後，同国会擬定「繼承案」，試圖阻止國家再度落入舊教勢力。愛德華任命他的姑表侄女简·格雷為王位繼承人，將他同父異母的姐姐瑪麗和伊莉莎白都排除在外。然而此舉引發極大爭議，珍·格蕾虽在愛德華逝後登基，但僅在位九天便被瑪麗一世推翻。仍信仰舊教的瑪麗上任後立刻著手撤銷許多愛德華時期的宗教改革，並對境內新教徒進行殘酷鎮壓。直到1558年伊莉莎白一世即位，新教才又恢復地位。

愛德華王子1537年10月12日出生於米德塞克斯漢普敦宮他母親的房間中[3]，是英王亨利八世和第三任妻子珍·西摩的兒子，也是英格蘭王室終於盼到的男性繼承人[4]。珍·西摩在產後恢復迅速，送出先前簽署的文件，正式宣佈「由國王陛下與我們之間至為合法婚姻所孕育的王子」誕生。顿时，英格蘭舉國歡騰，教堂內吟唱起《讚美頌》，城裡點燃篝火，慶祝著愛德華的誕生[5]。愛德華在10月15日受洗，由瑪麗公主擔任教母、伊莉莎白公主塗抹聖油[5]，嘉德紋章院長封為康沃爾公爵和切斯特伯爵[6]。然而，10月23日珍·西摩突然病況加劇，出現一連串產後併發症，翌夜即過世。亨利八世在寫給法王法蘭索瓦一世的信中提到，「……她為我帶來喜悅，上帝卻將它混攪著她的死所帶來的苦痛。」[7]
