Cloverfield's Slusho In Star Trek

MTV Interviewed J.J. Abrams about Star Trek, and they revealed that Slusho! will be making an appearance in the upcoming movie!
MTV: I couldn't help but notice the Slusho! reference from "Cloverfield" in the bar scene where Kirk first meets Uhura. Will we see other J.J.-isms peppered throughout the film?

J.J. Abrams: No. That was sort of the only one, and it was just sort of a goof.
I09 reports that a monster similar to Cloverfield also appears in the trailer. Could it be Clover's long lost relative?

Cloverfield Toy Canceled?

Dread Central is reporting that the fate of Cloverfield Toy may be in doubt (much like a Cloverfield Sequel)
... He received an e-mail with a status update on the toy, which listed it as both “discontinued” and shipping out sometime in December of this year. Since the toy was supposed to be out this month and not a soul has actually seen one outside of Toyfair, there’s a good chance Hasbro realized that maybe they weren’t the best ones to put this thing out.
I have also received email from people who's orders have been outright canceled. On the other hand, the website shows that the toy is "In-Stock", so who knows!?!?!?

Cloverfield Monster Revealed

Paramount has officially unveiled the Cloverfield monster.

A quick peek of the monster could be seen in a new TV commercial shown during the season 4 premiere of LOST, and now images and HD video of the monster can be seen at Yahoo! Movies. Check out the 1080p HD version of the video for an amazing close up of the monster, seen just before Rob and his friends take cover in the subway.

BTW, does anyone know what this sign in the new Yahoo! video is from? You can see it on the left, above the graffiti, as they are running towards the stairs.

This Is NOT The Monster, Part 1

This is part one in a series I am calling "This Is NOT the Monster".

I have received countless emails over the past few days with various links to websites claiming to have a photo of the Cloverfield monster (or MGP as it is known as at UnFiction).

That photo actually comes from Peter Konig's gallery of "concept" art, at the appropriately named ConceptArt.org. The gallery is full of things that could be the monster, but are not.

Also on that page, it mentions that visual effects company Tippett Studio's Peter Konig ... is [the] art director for the upcoming, top secret JJ Abrams production "Cloverfield".

And if you don't believe me, Harry Knowles of AICN summed it up in one word: BUNK.

More evidence here: http://www.2snaps.tv/9813767
"The image shows models ... for potential creatures to be used in a video game production back in 2003, which was being done by Massive Black... Which just happens to be Konig's company."
