Link a Confluence page to an epic

This page is for company-managed projects

To check whether your project is team-managed or company-managed, select More actions (•••) next to the project name in either the header or the sidebar. At the bottom of the menu that opens, you’ll be able to view whether your project is team-managed or company-managed.

If you’ve linked your Jira site to Confluence, you can link existing Confluence pages to your epics. For example, you may want to link your epic to a specification or design document in Confluence.

To link an existing Confluence page to an epic:

  1. Go to the Backlog of your Jira project, and select the Epic filter dropdown.

  2. In the epic filter dropdown, turn on the Epic panel toggle.

  3. You can expand an epic’s details by selecting the chevron () next to an epic’s name, then selecting View details.

  4. In the work item, select the Add quick-add button and then select Existing Confluence page.

  5. In the Confluence pages section that appears, you can search for a page or paste in a link, then select Link.

You can perform this action with your keyboard via Jira’s command palette. Use command + K (for Mac) or Ctrl + K (for Windows) to open the command palette while you’re in Jira. Read more about Jira’s command palette

You can add up to 2000 links to a work item. This includes:

  • web links

  • Confluence pages

  • links to an external work item on a different Jira instance

  • links to other Atlassian products.
