- The Dweller is a Trans-Organic from the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
The Dweller is a large Trans-Organic that was created by the Quintessons in the distant past on Cybertron. Due to its violent and dangerous nature it was sealed by the Quintessons for all of time. Like a vampire, it has the power to drain the life-force from anything it touches. It is virtually indestructible and not very nice at all.
Its victims end up as lumbering zombie-like minions who inherit the Dweller's power-draining ability. These "Energy Vampires" mindlessly seek out new victims, sucking them dry before returning to the Dweller and transferring their collected energy to the creature.

The Transformers cartoon
Long before the Quintessons had even created the robots which would one day become the Transformers, their early experiments centered around a fusion of technology and organic material. One of their creations, intended to function as a living energy siphon, turned out to be an unstoppable abomination that became known as the Dweller. They managed to defeat the Dweller and the rest of the Trans-Organic monsters and seal them away deep within the bowels of Cybertron.
Millions of years later, a group of Quintessons tricked Galvatron into awakening the Trans-Organics, planning to let their old creations exterminate the Transformers. After encountering Galvatron, the Dweller cut a swath of destruction across Cybertron until it attacked the new Autobot power plant. The Autobots used it to dispose of the creature by ejecting the power plant into space, where it crashed into a Quintesson ship that was monitoring the events. The fate of the Dweller from there on is unknown. The Dweller in the Depths

However, they only inherited the negative aspects of their progenitors—the heartlessness of machines and ferocity of beasts—and so the Oracle sealed them away. Bonus Edition Vol. EX
