The Covenant of Primus
The life-giving powers of the Emberstone worked into the Thirteen's plan to attack Unicron. Optimus Prime's spark was uniquely akin to that of Primus, and therefore an anathema to Unicron. During the mission, Vector Prime teleported Optimus into Unicron's spark chamber, causing both beings to shut down as they rejected each other. The Liege Maximo and Vector arranged a time-loop that would preserve Unicron in this state of hibernation perpetually, and Quintus Prime's Emberstone was used to restore Optimus.
After the war, Quintus allied with Maximo and Megatronus, using the Emberstone to create new, smaller Cybertronian lifeforms. The secret creation of these beasts, hidden at Maximo's Farm, ultimately proved to be a major catalyst leading to the War of the Primes. When the Age of Primes came to a close, Quintus Prime left Cybertron, intending to use the Emberstone to seed new worlds with life, creating cousins for the new Cybertronians that would emerge from the Well of All Sparks. It would later be used to create the Quintessons... a choice with no negative consequences whatsoever. The Covenant of Primus

The "gift" of Quintus Prime, after helping establish Cybertron's culture, Quintus left his homeworld, using the Emberstone to seed life on planets across the universe Age of Evolution, Part 1, hoping to create new species that could be allies of Cybertron in the future. His first creations, the Quintessons, desired to know the purpose of their existence, and so set off into space to seek their creator, but upon discovering they were just one of many experiments Quintus had abandoned, they grew bitter and sought to destroy Quintus and all his creations, and take the power of the Emberstone for themselves. Quintus took refuge on primordial Earth, where he fused his spark with the Emberstone, and used its power one last time to create the Titan Terratronus to stand guard, protecting it from those who would misuse its power. Terratronus placed the stone in a subterranean cave marked with Quintus's insignia.Witwicky, Part 1
In the modern era, after the Autobots and Decepticons had come to Earth, the human siblings Robby and Mo Malto fell into the Emberstone's cave. After knocking it off its pedestal, the siblings replaced the Emberstone, causing it to activate, creating Twitch and Thrash from a pool of water and bestowing cyber-sleeves upon the humans to guide the newborn Terrans. Secret Legacy, Part 1
When Optimus Prime was informed how the Terrans had come into being, he recognized the Emberstone's powers from legend, having the Terrans and Maltos retrieve it for him. After he explained its capabilities, the relic was teleported out his hand by Skywarp. Twitch recovered it, and Optimus ordered the Maltos to retreat and protect it. Falling back to the cave, the family, outnumbered by Arachnamechs, appealed to Quintus for aid. Heeding their call, the Emberstone created Hashtag, Jawbreaker and Nightshade before Nova Storm's missile barrage caused a cave-in. In the subsequent chaos, Mo lost her hold on the Emberstone, sending it flying into the pool. Age of Evolution, Part 1
Sometime after this, G.H.O.S.T. was able to retrieve the Emberstone, with Croft personally delivering the artifact to Mandroid. Shortly after she left, Mandroid installed the Emberstone into his harness, the stone teleporting him to Quintus Prime's orbiting starship where he found the Maltos, brought there by Quintus to stop Mandroid. Using the Emberstone, Mandroid was able to control the ship, setting it on a crash landing for Earth. While Alex and Dot Malto tried to course-correct, Mo fought off Mandroid, the Emberstone reacting to her cyber-sleeve and allowing her to manifest new weapons to match his armor. When Mandroid nearly executed Robby, Mo channelled the Emberstone's power to briefly stop time, prying the artifact from Mandroid's chest. In an ethereal landspace where she spoke to Quintus, the Emberstone was digitized and stored in Mo's cyber-sleeve. Prime Time
When Mandroid used an ancient tower to deactivate every Cybertronian on Earth, Robby and Mo summoned the Emberstone via their cyber-sleeves, using the tower to spread its energy across the planet and revive all the Transformers. The Last Hope, Part 2 However, this caused the Emberstone to shatter and cause its shards to scatter. The Autobots and Decepticons formed an alliance to recover the pieces of the Emberstone. That alliance soon ended when the Decepticons under Starscream's command took the first Embershard for themselves and began fighting the Autobots over the rest.
One year after Mandroid's defeat, the Decepticons fought the Autobots, Terrans, and Maltos over an Embershard. At the end of the fight, Breakdown threw the Embershard away and it landed in a puddle. The shard reacted to the water and created a new Terran named Aftermath. But due to the Emberstone being broken, Aftermath was much more violent and unable to sync with the Maltos, which soon led to him joining the Decepticons. Aftermath A shard was also in possession of Fairmaestro. The Butterfly Effect Another shard resulted in the creation of Chaos Terran Spitfire. Spitfire
The struggle over collecting the Embershards eventually ended in a Decepticon victory, with Starscream claiming the last two fragments back from Aftermath and Spitfire, killing them. Starscream used the reassembled and corrected Emberstone to take control of Terratronus, however Robby and Mo successfully reclaimed the Emberstone when they sealed Terratronus inside a massive Chaos Dome. They attempted to uncorrupt the Emberstone, only for it to shatter into dust. Witwicky, Part 2
