Quig is an Autobot-allied Nebulan Headmaster from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Imagine how much cooler he'd be as an orangutan.

If there was a twelfth circle of hell for librarians it would probably sound something like Cybertron's booming Sonic Canyons. Unfortunately for the meek, soft-spoken Nebulan librarian Quig, he was binary-bonded to a former inhabitant of those canyons, the out-(and always loudly)-spoken Siren. Their relationship has been a learning experience at the best of times. Siren tends to talk over others and disregard anything said at a less than bellowing volume, while the timid Quig tends to jump and spill his books every time Siren opens his mouth. As with many partnerships, however, the two are slowly learning from each other and are likely both better off for the pairing.

Quig is highly intelligent and quite well-read, traits that only enhance his partner's abilities.

Quig and Siren were always one of the more mismatched Autobot and Nebulan pairings among the Headmasters. When the technology to reverse the binary-bonding process was developed after the war, everyone assumed they would be first in line. On the contrary, Quig and Siren realized they had come to depend on each other: Quig needed Siren to help him be more outgoing, and Siren needed Quig to keep his more overbearing tendencies in check. After the war, Quig and Siren hooked up with Grimlock's crew for a while before going their own way with Nightbeat. Along with their other organic friends Muzzle, Lug and Minerva, they became an ad hoc detective agency with the Dinobots Slag and Sludge as their muscle. On the planet Azure, the Quig's team was hired by a sentient ship named Amory to find her pilot, Phyrion. A search eventually turned up an ambush set by the Mayhem Attack Squad, but Quig and the others managed to rescue Phyrion despite the Decepticons' intervention. Cheap Shots

Released in the fifth year of the The Transformers toyline (fourth year in the European line), Quig is a tiny armored humanoid that transforms into a robot head compatible with any larger Headmaster body. Doing so activates a spring-loaded tumbler inside the robot chest to show a trio of Tech-Spec meters which give readings for Speed, Strength and Intelligence; in larger Headmasters, they will show Quig's numbers, but smaller ones, being on a single plate, will only show their numbers regardless of how they differ from Quig's. Quig's head-mode is really more just a core and face, with the rest of the head form filled out with a helmet and a pair of small "Sonic Screamer Pistols" that fit on the sides.

In humanoid mode, the helmet can form a seat that allows Quig to sit comfortably into the driver's compartment of any of the fifth-year Autobot Headmaster robots in their vehicle mode.

Quig was only available with his larger partner Siren.

In Japan, this mold was redecoed to make the Headmaster Junior Goshooter, then later offered without changes (and in Hasbro packaging!) as "Goshooter Siren" in a Robot Point mail-away offer.

Titans Return

Part of the first wave of individually-packed Generations Titans Return Titan Masters, Loudmouth (renamed for trademark reasons) transforms from robot to a head based on that of the original Siren toy. In this mode, Loudmouth can serve as the head of any Titans Return Deluxe, Voyager, or Leader Class figure. He also features ports in his feet that allow him to peg onto a wide variety of Titans Return figures. Loudmouth is packaged with a small vehicle that can transform into three modes: a hovercar that Loudmouth can ride, a tank that Loudmouth can transform and become a part of (although you can let him ride in Titan Master mode by bending his knees), and a large blaster-weapon for larger figures to wield.

Unlike most of the Titan Master vehicle accessories, Loudmouth's vehicle's gun mode handle does not seem to easily pop off when wielded by many 5mm-compatible closed hands. However, the handle is slightly thin for both open and closed hands to wield, some Titan Masters like Nightbeat do not fit to the clamp piece well.

The upper portion of Loudmouth's legs has been installed backwards in every sample, but it can be fixed by lightly knocking off the pin, flipping the leg piece, and reassembling it.

Loudmouth was originally designed by Emiliano Santalucia as a new character, and sported an original head mode design. Loudmouth's head was redecoed as Legends Goshooter and came packaged with Legends Wheelie, while his vehicle was redecoed as Cargot, packaged with Legends Highbrow.
