Sonic Canyons
From Transformers Wiki
The Sonic Canyons are located on the southern side of Cybertron. The deafening sound of the planet's underground machinery wells up from their depths and loudly echoes up to the surface. The noise in turn causes a constant deluge of scrap metal to come tumbling down, making the canyons' direct environment particularly inhospitable.[1] Nonetheless, densely populated settlements have risen, and the Transformers living there, such as the Autobot Siren,[2] have adapted perfectly. Among the rest of the population, the people of this heavily industrialized section of Cybertron are characterized by their toughness, their no-nonsense attitude and their loud, loud voices.[3]
Few are aware the Sonic Canyons function as Primus's sensory organs. Their resonating structures allow him to collect data from across the galaxy, which is then processed into a more meaningful format by the Vector Sigma supercomputer.[4]

Optimus Prime and Ironhide once found themselves dangling for dear life off a crumbling ledge deep within the Sonic Canyons. Optimus warned Ironhide not to speak, as even whispers would be magnified a thousandfold down there. Old Ways Impactor coined the phrase "Wreck and Rule!" while saving Xaaron at the Sonic Canyons. A moment later, he crashed his sky-sled into the drilling platform. Presumably, one of the locals salvaged the vehicle, for it later made its way into Ironfist's possession. Landmine once led an expedition deep into the Sonic Canyons, but wound up stranded deep underground for some time until he could be rescued. The Change In Your Nature Part Two After Exarchon had been mutated, he hid a secret cache of the arcane technology he had been provided in the Sonic Canyons.
Shortly before the Decepticons marched on Crystal City, Exarchon reawoke and, after usurping Deathsaurus, retreated to his hidden sanctum. Concurrently, Optimus Prime dispatched a team of Autobots to the Canyons to investigate any hints about Exarchon's return. Braving the automated defences, the Autobots found the base's entrance only to be confronted by the ancient warlord himself. War's End Part One The Autobots managed to send off a signal to Crystal City, Pyra Magna heading off to aid them. The Landscape of Fear
After Megatron had agreed to an alliance with the Autobots against the Threefold Spark, both Autobots and Decepticons converged on the Canyons, arriving after Soundblaster and the Combaticons came to reinforce Exarchon. War's End Part Two Though the Autobots and Decepticons managed to destroy the active Skywarp drones, they fell back when faced with the arrival of Devastator. Regrouping, Pyra Magna and Sixshot drew up plans to attack the Canyons again, Blackjack warned that Team Stream had defected to the Threefold Spark, the former Risers reaching the Canyons just as Exarchon made to usurp Devastator. War's End Part Three
Finding that he was unable to usurp Devastator, Exarchon instead made for Team Stream, scaring them away, before Soundblaster convinced him to press forward with his plan to claim the AllSpark. As the Threefold Spark sent a third of himself to Cybertron's core, Pyra Magna and Sixshot were joined by Mindwipe's group who brought with them a means to trap Exarchon. Joined by Team Stream, the Autobot/Decepticon force attacked the Canyons again, Exarchon falling right into Mindwipe's trap whereupon two-thirds of his spark were destroyed by Pyra Magna. Considering the matter closed and the alliance's purpose served, Sixshot led the Decepticons, now counting the Constructicons, back to Iacon. Zetar's team meanwhile had followed Exarchon beneath the surface, managing to destroy him. As they climbed back to the surface, they just missed Skywarp stealing Exarchon's imploder.
