In 2012, the Earthborn Autobot Sizzle experienced one of his forestonite-based precognitive visions: Megaplex, Starscream, and Soundwave standing over the broken bodies of Optimus Prime and Galvatron. In 2013 as the Machine Wars dawned, Starscream fought as one of Jhiaxus's Cybertronian clone generals, leading the Starscream drones. Three and a half days after the Cybertronian army's successful capture of Cybertron, Starscream stood with his field commander, Megaplex, in Iacon. When Megaplex noted that the devastation gave him exhilaration, Starscream quipped that Megaplex was beginning to sound like Megatron, prompting Megaplex to disgustedly retort that Starscream should sound less like his own template. Just then, Skywarp arrived to report the Autobot-Decepticon forces' capture of Thundercracker. As Starscream could not send in his drones without harming their comrade, Megaplex decided to handle the matter personally.
After Jhiaxus arrived and offered the original Transformers the option to leave Cybertron in peace, which Obsidian and Strika rejected, the battle resumed. Alongside Sky-Byte, Starscream engaged several Autobots and Decepticons; Bitstream remarked to Hoist that the Decepticons had plenty of experience dealing with a Starscream. The battle came to an end when Jhiaxus realized that he had inadvertently achieved his goal of unifying Cybertron: by fighting him, Autobots and Decepticons had put aside their grudges to fight for each other rather than against each other. Starscream obeyed the order to surrender to the joint Autobot-Decepticon army, but Jhiaxus was then murdered by Megaplex. - Starscream's Machine Wars incarnation is a redeco of the Predator Skyquake, transforming into a large bomber jet based vaguely upon an SR-71 Blackbird. The main feature of the toy is its "carpet bombing" gimmick; each wing contains a drum that holds up to four missiles, which drop out as the drum is rotated. A further two missiles can also store on each wing, and one on each side of his fuselage, but while Skyquake came with enough missiles to fill all these ports, Starscream only comes with ten. The short length of the missiles necessary for this gimmick to function means that Starscream does not come with Skyquake's firing missile launcher, since the missiles are shorter than US safety standards allow, although it is incorrectly shown on his packaging. Starscream also lacks Skyquake's Megavisor gimmick. The figure also features a barely noticeable yet enormous Decepticon symbol on the top of the plane rendered in black paint on black plastic.
- Starscream is known to have come with either pale grey missiles, better fitting his new color scheme, or bright green missiles like Skyquake's.
- This mold was later redecoed to make King Atlas. The toy was repurposed as the Starscream drones in Wings Universe.

- A redeco of Hunt for the Decepticons Deluxe Class Terradive, Timelines Starscream transforms into a forward-swept wing fighter jet based on the Sukhoi Su-47 in a color scheme based on Machine Wars Starscream. In robot mode, he is armed with a polearm weapon, which can transform between a trident and a spear and stores via C joint clip on his underside in jet mode, or on the back of his left shoulder in robot mode. (This clip is a bit of a reversal from the norm, as the clip is permanently attached to the robot, and the spear weapon is the 3mm bar.) As his jet thrusters swing around to become his hands, they can be left in vehicle configuration to simulate movie-style blasters.
- This mold was also used to make Timelines Depth Charge, and retooled to make Dark of the Moon Space Case.

Notes
- Like almost every other cameo-Kreon, Kre-O Starscream is made up from existing Kre-O parts, in this case the Bluestreak helmet with some additional red and dark-grey detailing, although the 'thrusters' appear to be unique pieces.
