Synopsis
After constant losses to the Maximals, the Seacons are hard at work on repairing their photon sailer so they can leave the planet and their enemies behind. Scylla expresses a desire to stay behind to be with Scuba, but Halfshell quickly shuts it down. Terrormander points out that they can't take off without energy, which Halfshell admits is a problem.Underwater, Scylla meets up with Scuba to say her farewells and explain the Seacons' energy needs. At the Moon, Artemis asks Moon if there's anything they can do to help the Seacons along, but there isn't. At the Maximal base, Scuba informs the others of the Seacons' desire to leave. To confirm this fact, Lio Convoy establishes a ceasefire and travels to the photon sailer with Scuba.
The two leaders sit down and talk; Lio Convoy proposes that the Maximals will give the Seacons the energy they need if they leave peacefully. In the meantime, the two leaders are being eavesdropped by Starscream and BB in an underwater submarine. Halfshell rejects the offer, citing his honor as a pirate—they pirate, not receive gifts. Instead, he proposes a duel: If he wins, the Seacons get all of the Maximals' energy. Lio Convoy accepts, with the condition that the Seacons turn themselves over to the nearest Maximal spaceport if Halfshell loses. As the two Maximals leave to prepare, Halfshell tells Sea Phantom that he has an idea...At the Galvaburg II, Starscream reports to Galvatron and Megastorm of the upcoming battle. If Halfshell wins, good; if Lio Convoy wins, he'll be weakened and easy to finish off.
At the beach, Lio Convoy waits his opponent and Diver and Scuba secretly keep an eye on the situation. A Seacon finally rises from the water... it's not Halfshell, but God Neptune! God Neptune points out that, technically, he's one being, so it still satisfies the duel's conditions. As the duel begins, Starscream, BB, and Megastorm, hiding in a boulder, are amused at Halfshell's deceit. The giant tries to grab his opponent, but the lion is too quick and keeps the combiner agitated with his playful comments. Diver contacts the other Maximals about the fight, and they take off in their shuttle to assist their commander.God Neptune gets in a hit, but Lio Convoy is still too quick for the slow combiner, managing to get him to smash head-first into a cliff; Lio Convoy gets a slice in with his Lion Claw. Eventually, Diver and Scuba interrupt the fight, and God Neptune accuses the Maximals of cheating when accused of it himself. Lio Convoy tells his men to stand down and that his speed is enough to deal with the giant. The other Maximals are still on their way in the shuttle, but they are soon met with Dirge and Thrust, who refuse to let them arrive at the proceedings and help their leader.
God Neptune manages to grab Lio Convoy when the Maximal tries going in for an attack and throws him into the sea, where he has the advantage. Lio Convoy manages to endure a brutal attack and jumps out of the ocean to safer land. In the sky, the Maximals deal with Dirge and Thrust by having Bighorn and Tasmania Kid jump onto them, allowing Apache to speed off to the beach. On higher ground, Lio Convoy uses his Lion Typhoon, burying God Neptune in a rockslide. Cursing Halfshell's ineptitude, Megastorm bursts out of his hiding place and fires his cannon at the Maximal despite Starscream's protests. The blast reveals a geyser of Angolmois Energy and the Predacons return to their ship to report it to Galvatron.Apache finally arrives and sees that Lio Convoy is just fine and well. The Angolmois Energy's rumbling makes God Neptune split into his components and Halfshell declares the duel postponed, taking the energy that Lio Convoy left on the beach in his escape.
At sunset, the Maximals watch as the Seacons finally take off, with Bighorn again chasing after his "Squid Lady" and Lio Convoy noting that they will feel more like pirates once back in space. The earth rumbles, which gives Lio Convoy a portent of things to come...In space, the photon sailer sails away from the Solar System and comes across a strange void that drags it and the Seacons in.
Artemis & Moon II Report
Artemis and Moon ponder about the strange object that the Seacons encountered. As it's still outside the Solar System, Artemis still can't make it out. They speculate it has great power and Moon points out that nobody has noticed the change that has taken over Gaia. Seeking answers, they try to tap into Halfshell's knowledge as a space pirate, but the line is dead on the other end...
