I wasn't expecting much other than entertainment and a few laughs from the movie. Initially, the premise of the movie seems interesting but the execution just average. As the movie progress, the plot becomes interesting and the story shows some depth. By the end, the movie comes off as not great but definitely good. Performances are great on the part of Ajay and rakul, while Siddhartha's not so much. A couple of tracks are good and will make you groove to them. Considering other things, the screenplay is okayish, editing good and the use of vfx is not bad either. All in all, it's definitely worth one watch.

I never expected Thank God to be a great film and it is not. In fact , it is a very shallow level film with many flaws . Yet i felt it was a nice feel good film with good lessons learning journey.
The lessons it teaches us are very basic ones and one that every one from your family can easily resonate with. Also, it gives these lessons in very interesting ways... how? ...So basically, in Siddharth (named Ayaan in film) is a greedy small minded person who meets with an accident and is up in heaven in front of CG apparantly Chitragupta and Yamdoot who give him one last chance to redeem himself in order for him to survive. CG (Ajay Devgn) connects various events in Sids life in a very surprise reveal or twisty style to give him life lessons and this is what I found really interesting.
In fact there is one final twist at the end which maybe predictable for many but still was quite interestingly blended with the film. The game show like screenplay makes sure i was always invested in the film with no boring moments.
Ajay Devgn is another big positive about this film. His call and often swaggy nature made his parts extremely interesting.
These above factors make the film very much watchable but of course i said its not a great film.
Siddharth Malhotra after a terrific Shershaah falls flat in this film. "Thank God" Ajay Devgn was there in this film otherwise it would have been a bigger washout . Sid is hammy. He can't crack jokes properly. He is still not a very polished actor.
VFX is often not good but that's all you can expect from a film with not very high budget.
Indra Kumar, the Dhamaal / Masti man, is still not very matured as a director. His direction and treatment still feels stuck in the early 2000s but atleast this time he didn't make a cringy film. His films are well known for comedy but that's exactly what went missing in the film. Whatever comedy was there in the film was already shown in the trailer (in fact i would say the entire first half was shown in the trailer) and it barely works in the film . However, if one notes Indra Kumar's interview, he himself claimed he did not make this film as an out an out comedy but atleast whatever was there should have worked but sadly it doesn't.
Songs..umm..nah forget them. Maybe that Dil De Diya is something i love till now.
Overall, i am sure critics will bash this film and such films don't deserve to be watched with critical eyes. These are "just chill and enjoy" type of films. Also, it's not an out and out comedy so don't go in expecting a lol ride, it's actually more of a emotional life lesson / moral story kind of film. Last but not the least, what i liked was that it kept the lessons short and simple and not like some 15 mins speech that many Ayushman Khurrana films have. All lessons are given in just 30 secs and some of it is quite impactful.

I would start with the movie really diggs deep into the way we portray ourselves.
Instead of pleasing one another we keep on trying to please god.
I think it was the beauty of this movie.
Very well acted and funny at the right time.
Ajay looked cool and acted well.
Sidhart did well as well.
The girl looked and acted well.
The kid was cute.
Songs was just about okey.
Cgi was okey for the plot of the movie.
But the feeling the move gave was the maine purpose, and it was well achieved.
The message the movie gives, is way better than what I expected The world is becoming more bitter and materialistic.

There was a time when Bollywood used to make amazing comedy movies like Hera Pheri, Dhamaal, Andaz Apna Apna. But now their entire focus is to make make money by making cringe movies like Thank God. The movie has no story, ridiculous acting. After Shershah, I had high hopes from Siddharth Malhotra. But Comedy is not his genre. His dialogue delivery and expressions are pathetic. While the movie is definitely cringe, the agenda driven Bollywood in depiction of Hindu gods is nothing new. The movie has flop written all over it.
Expect the movie to earn around 50-60 Cr lifetime.
2/10 stars from me only for putting some effort in making this crap.

***Thank God Movie Review*** 3/5 ⭐
Directed by Indra Kumar starring Ajay Devgn Rakul Preet Siddharth P Malhotra in lead role.
An official remake of the Danish Film " Sorte Kugler"
Plot of The Movie...
Ayan Kapoor alias Siddharth is a well known real estate broker. Post demonetization, his empire started to fall and he became a huge debtor. In the process of his hustle bustle life to overcome his financial crisis, he met with an accident and when his eyes open he is with Chitragupta alias CG alias Ajay Devgn.
There he plays the game of life wherein time tells whether he will go back to planet earth or go to hell or heaven forever...
Analysis of the Movie
1) The plot which is taken by Indra Kumar, is a topic which is age old belief that as per the karma, a human will be going to heaven or hell. Here in a comic way, he executed the age old topic.
2) Writers Aakash Kaushik, Madhur Sharma had just refined this concept as per the modern way wherein Chitragupta will be seen in a black blazer with a salt and pepper beard look. A game show, giving the contestant a chance to redeem their sins.
3) The subplot through the form of game show, a sizzling item dance of Nora Fatehi leads the way to the main plot wherein at the end, how the changes happens in Ayan's life.
4) Coming to the performance, Siddharth Malhotra had bringed up the character of Ayan who is self centred, envy. A grey shade but many comic moments delivered
5) Ajay Devgn, I cannot able to witness some noteworthy performance except from his salt and pepper beard look.
6) Rakul had done a good job.
7) Music was ok
8) Aseem Bajaj cinematography was good enough to watch it on big screen.
9) Vfx at unnecessary places.
Overall, its just reminds me of the Kal ho na Ho title song " Har ghadi badal rahi hein roop zindagi, chav hein kahhi hai dhoop zindagi, har pal yaha jee bhar jeeyo, jo hai sama , kal ho na ho "

Very predictable, too slow and without any story. The dialogues, screenplay and vfx all very dated.
Only positive thing: The superb pair of Sid and Rakul.
However the acting of Sid after the remarkable Sheershah seems very contrasting.
There is no storyline in the movie. Even a school going kid can tell the plot in the first half itself.
Nothing that the audience of today can take back home, except for the good deeds shown which could have been shown a bit better.
The vfx was very dated as the audience 's exposure has grown with time, one can easily find the similar backgrounds artist (copy pasted) in the 'audience section' of CG. On regular basis.
Overall very disappointed.

After watching movies, I can get a better approach to live beautiful life. We are running towards busyness life in order to fulfillment of dream, but totally ignored life, relationship and values. This movie is best example of "every action there is an opposite reaction.
People's devotion towards gods and attached to them so closely to full fill there dream and expecting a happy life but instead of it if you will help poor peoples the god must bless you.
In this movie story and casting is also perfect. For movies like life and family content "Siddharth Malhotra" is best like" baar baar dekho" and "Kapoor and Sons. Ajay sir always do best, here also.

The story line was a bit flawed, as the god here showed him all his mistakes, and when the protogonist was given a second chance to prove him wrong for each mistake he mentioned, he still managed to make the same mistakes without thinking about them. Because of this, it kind of felt like he learned nothing. And the movie was very predictable, even for a fairy tale-like movie.
The movie was a little dull, and I had to skip a lot of it. The ending was the only good thing about this movie. The CGI was horrible, and the movie felt a bit silly sometimes.
This movie would be appropriate for kids and is not something I would recommend.

The movie shines at times but also gets really dull at moments. Screenplay is the primary problem that the movie tackles. Also, now that vfx is improving in bollywood, this movie should have invested the effort in VFX specially when it has a good amount of requirement in the film.
Songs seem a bit misplaced in the film with only the item song surprisingly taking the story forward. Female protagonist seems to have nothing much to do in the film. Although, with remakes this could have been delivered better. Overall this is a one time watch movie. Background score is nice and engaging but there seem too many movements with camera angles that make it less engrossed for the viewer.

Good movie, spreads the message of hope. Indeed in god we find strength. Initially thought I could predict the movie , but was surprised later on.
For all those smarties over there who think they can easily predict the outcome of movies, I challenge you, predict the outcome of this movie and you shall have my respect.
The intended outcome changes many times, never has my opinion of the end failed so miserably.
Started off with lots of noise with noting engaging , was almost about to give up on this movie when during the second half things took a turn for the better.
During the second half , content became interesting and engaging.
When you want to stay with the credits even after the movie is over as the after taste of the movie still lingers on your memory is when you realize that it was a good movie.
A movie that inspires to be good and do good. Indeed all us should refrain from doing bad as all our sins accumulate. Your time would not be wasted Would recommend it.

So boring and irritating are we fool to waste our money to watch this movie in the theatre
It's direct to OTT platform movie.
Already so many movies made on such concept Like Bruce almighty, tussi great Ho atleast they should improve it and make good film but they r ruining it more .
Is this movie is made for kids ? So slapstick Loud comedy they are trying hard but they fail to make audience laugh instead they are irritating audience. Now indian audience has grown up. No original concept everything thing loud and shout as they r trying to teach a five year old kids . Or this movie was forced to release in theatre so that it can be sold to ott platform, as ott platform has put conditions to Filmmakers that only film released at theatre will only be sold.

The concept of this movie has been used in several Indian movies over decades. A person is hanging between life and death, goes to afterlife / heaven / hell and is allowed to revisit earth or his former life. To this, another common concept of a bad person realizing the effect of his actions on others and therefore repenting and making good of all his mistakes is added.
Movies of this sort are comedies with emotional moments in between. Here, the lead actor who is present in all scenes lacks capacity to act in comic scenes. To add to our woes, the comedy scenes are not that good themselves. Generally when the hero does not know how to act in a comedy, a side character like Brahmanandam, Johnny Lever or Rajpal Yadav is added to entertain the movie viewers. Emotional scenes are okayish but they are also let down by the hero. More role should have been given to other actors like hero's mother and Kanwaljeet Singh. Replace Siddarth Malhotra with Old Govinda and imagine the result.
Not recommended.

I liked the movie. In some scenes it's pretty emotional. CGI, VFX was average. Ajay Devgan was better than Sidharth Malhotra. Jokes are good. Rakul's acting was good. Actually one thing I felt that Ritesh Deshmukh would be the best in the place of Sid. I don't know why they cast Sid. Sid's performance was not that natural. Obviously Sid is a good actor, but I don't like his comedy sense, timing and humour. Plus the supportive characters' acting was over-dramatic. Only Ajay Devgan's performance will hold the audiance till last.
Gives a good message. You can watch while eating type.
Rating - 3.5/5.

Thank God is a comedy which fails to deliver. The film despite being a comedy barely makes you laugh. In fact, it get can so boring at times that you just wish for the scene to end and another scene to come up. The audience expects Siddharth to get in the accident really quickly but it depends a little too much time to get to the accident scene. The audience just gets bored at this point.
Ajay Devgn is the only one who entertains you. Siddharth Malhotra tries but it doesn't work.
This film is the type of film which needs to give the audience a reason to stay and watch the whole film. Thank God does not do that though. The audience just gets bored after a while which isn't good.
If you are bored and have nothing to do, watch this film however I wouldn't recommend you to watch it expecting it to be great.

AMAZING MOVIE.
I should have given it 10 points, but I give 10 points only to those movies which totally change your life or thinking.
I totally avoided the movie due to reviews. But, Thank God, I watched it for few minutes, and I couldn't stop. Such a beautiful movie. Not just a comedy, but emotional as well.
Not just a one time watch, at least for me, I can repeat it anyday.
There was no dull movement in the movie, There is no point in the movie where you want to leave it, It isn't just a lame comedy without emotions or depth.
It isn't a dark movie. So dark movie lovers, you can also easily enjoy this movie, but it is light hearted good movie.

Though Thank God is the perfect representation of a commercial movie, it has an edge. Such movies always leave you with something to think about. Infact I think if this were made through an Indie lens not many would watch it. So yes, it is a little shallow but the movie has some good lessons to learn. Watching this with family is a good way to introspect on one's life. A line which stuck with me is "Tum Bhagwan Main To Mante Ho Lekin Bhagwan Ki Ek Nahin Mante". A powerful statement to
Unfortunately, I do think this movie lacks a little in the story, it feels very superficial but it does get the job done. I think the powerful meaning shared by the movie, masks the lack of a good back story, in-fact the character development feels a little sudden and rushed.
Ajay Devgan is just soo good at what he does and I can't even imagine where this movie would be without him.

There movie doesn't allow you to thank about anything.......
Saw the movie with great expectations for comedy as Indra Kumar's movie are hilarious but it failed it was little funny in the first half but then the second half was totally emotional of low range..Indra Kumar's movies have always given good songs but that also was not done here..kids were also not happy here
Ajay was good rakul was show piece and Siddarath was normal...
The movie failed to offer festival entertainment now let's see how ram Setu goes
Triplings season 3 or four more shot's please is better choice .............Nothing to thank about.

Movie has succeeded showing way and purpose of life to do about humanity.
Movie is slow but overall acting and songs are good and especially good for kids to show good deeds can help others and themselves.
Very well directed and acting from Ajay Degan.
Trailer itself is convincing to watch the movie and Our time on this planet is limited and the kindness is all we have for free. So let us be kind to all and redeem ourselves whenever we get the chance because good must always outweight and trump the bad. I am not qualified enough to rate the performances but I am immensely grateful to the writers for coming up with such a great story.

Whilst the inherent intent may seem naive, the presentation as well as their overall approach beg to suggest otherwise. Although I must admit that despite having a surplus amount of shortcomings, the film had its heart in the right place. As can be observed in the overflowing emotions underneath which tend to come out quite effectively, every now and then, with a bagful of life lessons that formulaically tag along!
However, if you keep those two highlighting points aside, there's not much to talk about. The comedy isn't up to the mark, nor are the special effects. It seems like the whole feature staked money only on emotions & nothing else. While they did garner some degree of success in that specific regard, the other elements are largely left stranded, resulting in a non-viable byproduct.

Can Siddharth malhotra act even a little? If you want to be in cinec world take some acting classes dude. Such dud!
Dialogues, editing, direction, acting...all are way way subpar.
Even fastforwarding few minutes doesn't help. Such a waste of time. Wanted to give it some time for plot to build, but poor story, so can't be saved. Finally just watched in fast forward mode and got done with it.
Do yourself a favor, use your time to watch something else and don't jhelo this super long no plot no acting movie.
Just watched Drishyam2 and liked it, and now to see Devgn here in this movie, it was quite boring.

The story begins when a corrupt man ( the protagonist) meets an accident and is taken by Yamdut (YD as in the film) to heaven where he needs to play the Game of Life with Chitragupt (CG) and by winning it, he can save his life.
The concept here is not really new, neither for Bollywood or Hollywood - 100% agreed but honestly the movie really starts right after it, when CG starts the game and challenges the man with different situations, each ending with a lesson and filled with some enjoyable punches and characters.
The positives first: The idea, writing, humour, the choice of actors is impressive; especially how every task was related to a quality of a person. I personally was at the edge all the time waiting for the next task and the next move of the protagonist.
Now, the negatives: The VFX was noticeably not good. It's just that I personally really enjoy the fantasy stuff and it was really well written that it did not bother me much but a technical person would notice it every now and then. Secondly, the sad story of Sid's sister was really unrealistic where her father didn't talk to her for the entire life - you will understand once you watch the film ( won't spoil it).
So, overall the film was really enjoyable and filled with some really relevant life lessons that we know all the time but often forget.
" Definitely a One Time Watch "

It's just that I personally really enjoy the fantasy stuff and it was really well written that it did not bother me much but a technical person would notice it every now and then. Secondly, the sad story of Sid's sister was really unrealistic where her father didn't talk to her for the entire life - you will understand once you watch the film ( won't spoil it).
So, overall the film was really enjoyable and filled with some really relevant life lessons that we know all the time but often forget.

I have disaster of 2022, I paid 180/- for taking free ka Gyan, which is already available on WhatsApp status. This is the flop movie with flop acting, flop script and flop direction.
Don't waste money on this, if you really want to see true film. Instead of this watch kantara movie twice.

"Thank God" is a casual and entertaining movie that delivers an average performance from the actors. The visual effects are decent, but the first half of the film feels dragged out. The second half picks up the pace and becomes somewhat enjoyable. The comic scenes are average, but the highlight is that it's a family entertainer with moral lessons for both children and parents. It can be watched with the family, and there are a few sentimental moments that may resonate with older viewers. However, it's important to note that since it's a fictional movie, it shouldn't be taken too seriously. Overall, it's an average one-time entertaining watch.
