I Distributive Property
In the distributive property you take
numbers like 5(x + 3) and simplify them so they make sense. Like in this problem its ve times x plus three, but in order to simplify it all you have to do is multiply ve times x (5x) and ve times three (15). Next you add the two products and the outcome is 5x + 15.

I Associative Property
The associative property is when numbers
are the same no matter how the numbers are grouped. This is true in addition and multiplication. The parenthesis tell us the terms that are considered one unit. An example would be when you have (3 x 2) x 4 and then you use the associative property on it it becomes 3 x (2 x 4), In other words the parenthesis change but the product

I Commutative Property
The commutative property is similar to the
associative property. The associative property is about groupings and the commutative property states that the order of numbers in a multiplication or addition problem dose not matter. So 4 + 2 = 2 + 4 its as easy as that.

II
In order to simplify 4(7x 3) + 2x, you must simplify 4(7x - 3) rst by using the distributive property. So now the problem is 28x - 12 + 2x. Then you nd the terms by using different shapes to separate them [28x] (- 12) [+2x] and add or subtract the common terms. In this case it would become 30x -12

III
In order to solve 7x - 10 - 9x = -13 you
rst add ten to both sides. 7x - 9x = -3. Then you nd the common terms in this problem. It is very easy because they are both the same variable (x) so you subtract 9x from 7x which makes the equation, ( -2x = -3 ). Then you divide both sides by -2 to seclude x, so the answer is x = 1.5.

IV
In order to solve 5x/6 + x/3 - 1/2 = 11/6
you must divide them by the lowest common denominator, in this case 6. Then you multiply the numerator by the quotients you got. 5x + 2x - 3 = 11 would be the simplied equation. Then like in the last problem, you add common terms making the equation 7x - 3 =11. Then you add 3 to both sides making it 7x =14. Finally

V
In order to solve and graph 2 < -x/5. you
must divide both sides by -5, but when you you divide by a negative number you ip less then to grater then (and greater then to less then). The equation would then come down to -2.5 > x, however the x can not be on the right of the equation so you have to ip it once again. So the nal equation would be x <-2.5. And to graph it all you must do is put a open circle over -2.5 because it is less then and not less
