Electromagnetism

Electromagnetism is made up of two interacting forces - electrostatics and magnetism. Electrostatics involves the positive or negative charges that objects can take on, and how they attract or repel each other. A changing magnetic field can induce an electric current. Key figures like Hans Christian Oersted, Michael Faraday, and James Clerk Maxwell contributed discoveries about the relationship between electricity and magnetism in the early 19th century. Electromagnetism underlies many modern technologies and holds atoms together.

* Electromagnetism

Calixto Molina

* Electromagnetism is two forces that interact

with each other to create a strong or weak
force that goes over an infinite distances.

*What is

Electromagnetism?

* Electrostatic can be either positive or negative

charge that could attract or repel an object
* The more charge an object build up then the
more potential energy the object has in that
the energy has to be transferred
* A photon carries the electrostatic force
between the electron and proton

*Electrostatics

Force

* A magnetic force is created by a magnetic field

by having both positive and negative area.
* If a object place on the field line it is affected
by the signs of field line

*Magnetic

Force

* There are three people that contribute to the

discovering of Electromagnetism
* Hans Christian Oersted discovered in1820 that by
having a electric wire can deflect a magnetized
compass which could determine the magnetic field
strength
* Michael Faraday in 1831 invented the first machine
that show that a changing magnetic field can create an
electric current
* James Clerk Maxwell in 1864 predicted that changing
the electric field has an effect on the magnetic field

*Who discovered

* Electromagnetism contribute to the

development of electric power plant and

modern communication(cell phone, computers
etc.)
* Electromagnetism also holds all the atoms
together in the universe ex: if there was two
people that weight about 157 pound standing
two meter from each other and there was one
electron missing there would be a 30,000-ton
repel force
