If device all information is fine then Cacti servers communicate with device accordingly and capture all information using SNMP traps. 3. Now need to create graph for this device then you have to click on *Create Graph for this Host on top right.
4. Now you will get all interface detail with and check the box provide at right toward interface and select In/Out Bits on Select a graph type. Then click on Create.
5. To add interface description on Graph Title use query option from Graph Management located at left side panel. Click on required Graph title, locate Graph Field and insert below entry if device is Cisco. |host_description| - |query_ifName| - |query_ifAlias|
Wait for few minutes your RRD file will be create by RRDtool and check the graph on Graphs tab.
New pop-up window will appear with further useful configuration. Interval option can be used for poller frequency minimum 1 second .
Flows Viewer
1. Flows plug-ins is use to get the Net Flow data from Cisco devices and displays the same on Flows tabs post running query.
Three sub-tabs exists inside flows tab (Filter, Listeners & Scheduled). Listener defines the folder and TCP port on which Centos server is getting Net Flow data from Cisco Device. 2. Firstly need to add listener using below method:-
Listener name (can use any thing) type required Directory name then flow-tool will create this directory inside /var/flows/ directory in centos. let it be 0 then any IP can read the logs. use the exact TCP Port which you have used in flow-capture.conf file located in (/etc/flow-tools/) directory in centos.
3. To check the Net Flow log go to Filters Tab and select required Listener and click on View button at bottom.
4. Then after you will get output as below and if you dont get then check with your configuration in Centos.
Syslog
Syslog plug-ins is used to get all types of log messages from the devices allowed in Rsyslog. Cacti server creates a tab of syslog with some useful configuration. To monitor the Syslog go to Syslog tab and select show all hosts from left side panel. We can check logs for devices individually as well.
Special rules can be added for removing the logs and for alerting on specific message.
Removal rules:Go to Console tab and select Removal Rules in Syslog setting on Left side panel. Click on Add located at top right corner.
Fill the form accordingly and create rules. This rule will be run on next polling by cacti.
