MV Capacitor Calculation

1) The document calculates the capacitive reactive power (kVAR) required for power factor improvement of a 6.6kV switchboard load from 0.90 lagging to 0.98 leading power factor. 2) It then calculates the rating of capacitor and reactor required based on the calculated kVAR and system voltage. 3) A 1050 kVAR capacitor is determined to be sufficient for the bus-1 of the 6.6kV switchboard to achieve the required power factor correction.
