AS LEVEL MEDIA STUDIES

SUMMARY:

Plan:
Whilst planning this movie project, I decided to keep it very simple and just
do the basic four angles that were mentioned for this project. I started off by
filming all my separate camera angles and making sure all the rules apply.
(For example the 180-degree rule, where you have to stay on one side of the
line.) Each shot was taken with precision and direct angles that could classify
each shot.

Process:
The process of making the film was fun and easy and took a little research to
master each individual shot:
-Match on Match: camera cuts from behind to the front as the
character turns around making the movement and shot seem fluid and
easily followed.
- 180-Degree Rule: camera cannot surpass the straight line between
two character, which means it must show the same side of the two
characters so it looks natural for the viewer.
- Shot reverse shot: conversation going on between the two people;
camera switched back and forth between the girls having the
conversation.

-Eye line match: the audience sees what the camera on screen sees
(as if it was seen through the actors eyes.)

SCRIPT

Shot One- Girl 1


(She walks through the door excited carrying a dress)

Shot Two- Girl 2


(She looks up from all her textbooks and homework)

Shot 3- Girl 1
(Throws down the dress onto her homework)

Shot 4- Girl 2
Girl 2- Whats all this

Shot 5- Girl 1
Girl 1- You are going to the dance, you have to.

Shot 6- Girl 2
Girl 2- (laughs) I have a huge paper due tomorrow there is no way Im going to the
dance.

Shot 7- Girl 1
Girl 1- You have a perfect grade in the class, leave the books, youre coming.

Shot 8- Girl 2
Girl 2- (Smirks)
(Scene fades out)
