Solved Problems To Chapter 08

The document provides solutions to three problems related to chopper circuits. Problem 1 involves computing the turn-off time of the main thyristor, total commutation interval, and turn-off time of the auxiliary thyristor for a current commutated chopper circuit. Problem 2 calculates the mean load current, current ripple magnitude, and minimum and maximum load current values for a type-A chopper operating with a given load time constant, resistance, and mean load voltage. Problem 3 derives an expression for the maximum rms current rating of the free wheeling diode for a type-A chopper feeding an RLE load, considering the load current to be ripple-free.
