Sand Springs Elks Lodge #2553

Letter From the Exalted Ruler

Dear Fellow Elks,

I guess you all are stuck with me for one more year. I had so much fun last year; I just had to do it again.
I would like to thank everyone for instilling their trust in me once again as ER of the lodge. I would also
like to thank all of the incoming officers for helping me out this coming year. They are listed within the
newsletter so if you run into any of them; please congratulate them and thank them for stepping up and
getting involved.

We have a busy year planned as always. We are going to continue growing our membership. We are go-
ing to continue with all of the improvements to the building we have on our list. We are getting very
close on our Mini Storage Project. We should have some final figures and ROIs very soon to present.
Please come up to a meeting and find out what all is going on at the Lodge because there is too much to
list.

We will be having a Barbecue Fiesta May 20th to help raise money for a LED sign to go out on our large
sign in front of building. Joe and Annette Ozuna will be doing the food for this and let me tell you; it is
good. Please get with Joe if you have any questions. A flyer will be in the newsletter with details. We
are also having the Bike Poker Run again and it is scheduled for June 10th. Please get with Allen Ewing
for details on this. Right now our Boat Poker Run is scheduled for July 22nd. We will need help with all
of these events. Please ask what you can do to help.

I know everyone is beginning to pay their membership dues for 2017-2018. I want to remind you about
the importance of giving a little extra. I would like to encourage you to pay the recommended amount for
ENF and OEMP State Major Projects. The Elks National Foundation donation is what enables us to get
grants every year to give out to our communities. The OEMP donation goes to special projects within the
state such as Special Olympics and the Cadet Lawman Academy to name a couple. With your help, we
can make this another very charitable year.

As always, I look forward to seeing you at the lodge.

Your Exalted Ruler,
Braden Bush
