Ep 0263006 B1 19921209 (En)

1. The patent document describes a differential circuit that uses constant current source field effect transistors (FETs) as load elements and a constant voltage type FET as a clamp to improve temperature stability and AC performance over conventional diode-clamped circuits. 2. The inventor is Kay Tohyama from Fujitsu Limited. 3. The patent was filed in Japan in 1986 and granted in Europe in 1992, but later lapsed due to non-payment of renewal fees.

Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0263006A1] To increase a voltage gain of a differential circuit, constant current source type FETs in which a source and a gate are short
circuited are used as a load element (Q L1, Q L2) and as a current source (Q CS), and a constant voltage type FET (Q C1, Q C2) is used as a
clamp to clamp the load element. Therefore the temperature characteristic and the deterioration of an AC characteristic, which cause problems in a
conventional diode clamp type differential circuit, can be improved.
