DERA BASSI MULTIFUNCTION TRANSIT NODE

Transit node is a complex of devices in the area for the functioning and interaction of
several types of backbones that serve local, freight and passenger traffic and a set of
multiple processes.

The project is multifunction node as it connects major working of the city. The junction
caters two major schools, hospitals, mc office, local market, religious spaces like mosque,
dargah, temples etc.

Also the major transport connection for the city as it have the local yet city connecting bus
stop and the tour and travel service providers hub. Also national highway 22 connects the
city to other cities around.

The objective of redeveloping the area is to make the functions clearer and systematic. The
present condition of the place needs attention. The reckless crowd of the city makes the
area a mess. There is a need of segregation of spaces and proposals of new ideas to
urbanise the space and thus give the space its meaning.

Providing spaces for religious get together, for students to come and enjoy the mood of the
space. Generating systematic movement of vehicles and humans. Creating safe walking
zones for kids.
