Lesson plan in Mathematics

Grade 1

Content Standard:

2D and 3D shapes through identifying, classifying and constructing figures using cut outs and
concrete models.

Performance Standard:

Explore the properties of 2 and 3-dimensional figures.

Learning Competency:

Identifies, names and describe the four basic shapes in 2- and 3- dimensional objects: square,
rectangle, triangle and circle.

Compares and classifies2- and 3- dimensional figures according to common attributes.

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the student are able to:

Identify the four basic shapes.


Describe the property of each shape.
Give the importance of each shape in a real situation.

Source/ Reference: Mathematics 1, pg. 117-119

Materials: Cartolina, Pentelpen, pictures, real object
