Fastest Finger First Indicator

This circuit determines which of four contestants pressed their button first in a game show. When a contestant presses their button, the corresponding output of a latch chip changes state, while combinational logic locks out further inputs. An encoder chip encodes the active input into a binary coded decimal number that is displayed on a 7-segment LED display. An audio alarm also sounds when the first button is pressed to indicate the fastest contestant. The circuit can be modified to accommodate more than four contestants.
