This self-assessment checklist is meant to help nurses evaluate their clinical skills and determine which skills need more practice. It lists various clinical skills and asks the nurse to indicate when they last performed each skill and if they are satisfied with their proficiency. The checklist will be used by the nurse and their preceptor to guide hands-on learning in clinical placements and help obtain proficiency in skills that need improvement. Clinical experiences are designed to provide more practice to move towards proficiency, not for testing.

performed some, if not all of these skills in a nursing clinical position. If you are satisfied with your skill
performance for the skills listed below please indicate. As you have been away from the field of nursing for
