State Level Competition on Build Your Own IIoT System [BYOIS]

Participate, Demonstrate and win cash price up to Rs. 100,000/-, Internship, Training,
Certification & Software / Hardware

IIoT competition
Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Academy (APITA) has planned to conduct a state level
competition in Industrial Internet of Things in association with National Instruments. The objective of
the competition is to create awareness in the educational community on Industrial IoT concepts, get the
students’ familiar with the new technology, encourage innovative minds, and connect the community to
the industry.

Outcome of the competition


This competition will provide the students a platform to demonstrate the skills and competencies in the
Industrial IoT. This is an opportunity for Engineering students to solve challenging real world problems,
implement their solutions and make live Industrial IoT ready projects. Top 3 teams will be rewarded with
cash prize and will be provided with internship opportunities. The successful teams may get an
opportunity to showcase their project at a National / global competition.

Eligibility criteria:
Only current 3rd or 4th year B. Tech / B.E students are eligible to participate in the competition.
Students can participate in the competition as teams with a maximum size of 3 members in each
team.
A student cannot be a member of multiple teams.
The team is required to have one faculty member from their college / University as their guide.
Teams are allowed to submit maximum of three projects entry.
National Instruments Software and/or Hardware platform should be used.

Timelines:
Last date for Idea / Abstract submission – 25th June 2018
Idea / Abstract screening and interim shortlist – 15th July 2018 (Last date)
Design simulation and submission by the students – 30th Aug 2018 (Last date)
Announcement of the shortlisted designs – 5th Sept 2018
Hardware implementation and software integration of the project – 25th Sept 2018 (Last date)
State level display of the projects and announcement of the winners – 1st Oct 2018
Top 3 teams will be rewarded with cash prize and will be provided with internship opportunities,
Training and Certification opportunities.

Key steps:
Ideate and submit abstract
Get training on National Instruments tools
Get access to NI tools and mentorship from industry experts

Build a working system and get rewarded.

NI Role:
Hardware, software, and mentoring support
Providing experts for evaluation and the selection of the projects
Cash prize sponsorship
Internships with NI and/or NI partner eco-system industries

APITA role:
Promoting and facilitating the competition
Coordinating with stake holders, monitoring and execution of the competition

Engineering Colleges in Andhra Pradesh are requested to motivate the students and submit their project
Idea / abstract to K. Sridhar, Manager, APITA (email id: sridhar.kolluru@ap.gov.in ; phone: 8978900934)
before 25th June 2018.

The abstract should also contain the details of the student teams (College Name and address, district,
Project Name, Team Size, Team member details - Name of the students, branch, semester, phone
number and email id) and mentor (Name of the mentor / faculty, designation, branch, phone number
and email id).
