3.1 Overview of PRM Fashions Private Ltd

PRM started its commercial operations in Chittagong, Bangladesh, in October 2016 as a 100% foreign
investment private limited company with the objective of manufacturing and exporting readymade garments
at competitive prices.
The company has installed approximately 800 machines and employs 1500 people. PRM has the capability to
produce Tops, Bottoms, and Outerwear. The company is a subsidiary of K.Mohan & Company Pvt. Ltd,
Bangalore, garment manufacturers in India with more than 4 decades of experience in the garment
manufacturing and export business.

3.2 Mission

• Management team that has a combined experience of over 50 years in the business. This gives PRM the
ability to deliver goods on time and at a competitive price.
• Multiple product capability (Outerwear, tops, and bottoms) making it a one stop shop for apparel.
• Infrastructure that is set up to meet Accord standards on Fire, Structural, and Electrical safety.
• Time tested design and product development service via the design centre in India.

 The operative also called service functions are those which are relevant to specific department. These
functions vary from department to department depending on the nature of the department viewed from
this standpoint, to ensuring right people to right jobs at right times. These functions include procurement,
development, compensation, and maintenance functions of PRM.

 It involves procuring the right kind of people in appropriate number to be placed in the organization. It
consists of activities such as manpower planning, recruitment, selecting, and placement and induction
orientation of new employees.
 Activities meant to improve the knowledge, skills, aptitudes and values of employees so as to enable
them to perform their jobs in a better manner in future. Functions may comprise training to employees,
executive training to develop managers, organization development to strike a better fit between
organizational climate/culture and employee.
 Compensation function involves determination of wages and salaries matching with contribution made
by employees to organizational goals. It consists of activities such as job evaluation, wage and salary
administration bonus, incentives.
 It is concerned with protecting and promoting employees while at work. For this purpose, various
benefits such as housing, medical, educational, transport facilities, etc to the employees. Several social
security measures such as provided fund, pension, gratuity, insurance, etc are also arranged.
 It is important to note that the managerial and operative functions of PRM are performed in conjunction
with each other in an organization, be large or small organization.

3.15 FABRIC WAREHOUSE

Besides being 100% safety compliant, our fabric warehouse can store up to half a million meters of fabric.

3.16 CAD & CUTTING

State-of-the-Art machinery and skilled manpower are their core strengths. Capacity to cut 13,000 units /
day.
 Our CAD Centre comes equipped with Gerber software as well as Gerber cutter and spreaders
 Fusing is done on the latest Hashima machines
 The Gerber system is operated by operators who have been trained by our parent company K Mohan &
Co.

Their sampling room is equipped with infrastructure to product up to 50 pieces / day for pre-production and
development samples.

3.18 PRODUCTION

Installed 800 sewing machines with several automated machines to improve efficiency and quality

 Automatic Welt Pocket Machines

 Automatic button hole machines
3.19 FINISHING
Highly trained workforce has the capacity to finish up to 13,000 pcs / day All garments are passed
through a Needle detector before move to packing section Dedicated CTPAT area for packing and
storage of finished garments.

3.19.1 Quality Control


3.20 FABRIC & TRIMS CHECKING
They have installed professional fabric checking machines to ensure the right fabric is issued
for production
Manpower is trained to check fabric on the 4 point AQL system
All fabric is checked and segregated based on shad and shrinkage and issued to cutting
accordingly
They ensure fabrics customer testing requirements via a 3rd party FPT report before issuing
for production
All accessories go through a 100% check for count, accuracy, and quality.

3.21 SAMPLING & DEVELOPMENT

Quality begins at the sampling stage – our cross-functional team of , merchandising manager,
garment technician, industrial engineer, and quality manager collaborate at the development stage
to review and identify any risks and provide quality, production, and lead time related call outs to
ensure customer’s expectations are met.

3.22 PRODUCTION
 Diligent pre-production activities are conducted 5-7 days prior to PCD. These include: 100%
shrinkage tests, shade banding, IE review of production line design
 In-line check points at critical operations
 Daily review of DHU reports and root cause analysis
 End line AQL check

3.23 Finishing
 Multiple check points for visual, technical, and measurement defects
 Garments checked for quality both, before and after wash
 Rejected garments are tagged and quarantined
 Daily rejection reports are reviewed alongside rejected pieces to reduce quality defects.
 All garments go through final AQL checking before moving to packing section

4.6 INVENTORY MANAGEMENT


They used a cloud based ERP system for inventory management This helps streamline our entire
operation and ensure every aspect of our operation is integrated. The system helps ensure
traceability, accountability and allows us to make effective data driven decisions to drive the
business forward. The traditional method for recording inventory details in the spreadsheets
(Excel) is no more an efficient tool for managing the apparel business. To manage and control the
inventory in the store and warehouse, an inventory management software is an essential aid.

WFX (WORLD FASHION EXCHANGE)


In WFX Inventory management module has following features:-
*Multiple warehouses
*Roll-wise & lot-wise inventory
*Real-time view to goods received and dispatched across locations
*Configure business rules (Tolerances & Delivery schedules)
*Maintain Reorder levels and minimum order quantities critical products.
*Stock transfers and Adjustments
4.7 FIRE SAFETY

They maintain special focus to ensure 100% adherence to fire and safety rules.
 They have a fire Evacuation Plan for each floor with fixed direction markings at all exists
(North, South, East & West)
 They have 192 fire extinguishers, 30 fire hydrant boxes with 100m hose pipes, 172 smoke
detectors with emergency fire exit doors on every floor.
 They have firefighting equipment in a fire fighting box placed at each floor as per advice by
the Bangladesh department of Fire Service & Civil Defense.
 They have appointed especially trained employees to operate as fire safety officers and
conduct drills / fire safety training as per local laws

4.8 SOCIAL COMPLIANCE

They provide and care for our workforce beyond the local standards of HR practice:

• 20 toilets marked separately for Ladies & Gents.


• A large space with furniture provided in the dining hall
• Lockers provided for workers
• Ensure timely salary along with other benefits such as festival bonus, attendance bonus, clean
drinking water, free lunch, transport, insurance etc.
• They deploy policies for worker engagement and welfare to meet standards of BSCI and
SEDEX (WRAP expected in March 2018)
• They operate with various worker led committees such as Welfare committee, sexual
harassment committee, etc. to ensure a safe and pleasant working environment.

4.9 CULTURAL SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

• We train people with disabilities to perform certain tasks that helps them earn a livelihood.
• We plan to have at least 1% of our workforce who are differently abled.
• Currently we have 3 workers who take pride in their ability to deliver to targets.
