India is still unadorned. Mahatma Gandhi said
"Sanitation is more important than
independence". He made cleanliness and
sanitation an integral part of living.
Cleanliness is most important for physical
well-being and a healthy environment. The
habits learnt at a young age get embedded into
one's personality. Mahatma Gandhi said “I will
not let anyone walk through my mind with
their dirty feet."
This issue is dedicated to Father of the Nation.

SPORTS ROUND UP
The fortnight events in the sports segment were predominated by RGPV Nodal and State level
tournament. Oriental becomes the conquering hero by notching a number of awards.

RGPV Nodal-Level Basketball Tournament


Oriental girls stood first while LNCT became the runner-up. In the boys tournament, SIRT was the
winner and Oriental became the runner-up.
The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of the Chief Guests Dr. Manju
Singh, Dean Student Welfare, RGPV and Shri Aruneshwar Singh Deo, King of Surguja State.

OCT student wins RGPV State level Badminton Tournament

Ms. Sanjana Guha, from 7th semester of IT branch, OCT brought laurels to the Oriental Group, by
winning RGPV State-level Badminton Tournament held at SATI, Vidisha.

RGPV Nodal-level Dance Competition


Oriental College of Technology gained the Runner up trophy in RGPV Group dance Nodals which
was held at LNCT Group of Institutes. Teams from different colleges of Bhopal participated in the
event, wherein OCT secured a position for itself amidst tough competition.

RGPV State-Level Theatre Competition


Oriental students marked their significant presence in RGPV Nodals and State Level Theatre
Competition and became the winners. The event was held at Malwa Institute of Science &
Technology, Indore.

INDUSTRIAL VISITS
Industrial visits are conducted for the students to provide them the practical
knowledge and make them aware about the field work.

• The students of 3rd semester visited the Permali Wallace Private Limited.
Oriental College of Management is thankful to R & D Manager Permali Wallace specially Mr.
Bhujang Seth, Assistant Manager HR Mr. Jitendra Kumar, Head Permaglass Mr. M.M. Sharma,
Superintendent Permaglass Mr. Atul Tiwari, Press shop head Mr. K.S. Parmar & other
officials who guided and enriched the knowledge of the students on this visit.

• The students of MBA, 1st semester were taken to Eicher Tractors, Mandideep. The HR
Manager Mr. Krishna Kumar Yaduwanshi briefed the students about the company, its useful
products, the marketing approach, the target market and about their distribution network.
The students witnesed the assembly line and its process. The students gained a lot of
knowledge from the visit.

Savishkar Live i-cell, Oriental Chapter organized a visit to Mr. Imtiyaz Ali’s Waste
ManagementIndustry. Firstly, the students were introduced to the President of Sarthak
Organization, Mr. Imtiyaz Ali who designed an incredible model for plastic waste management and
then were addressed by Mr. M.P. Singh, Additional Commissioner Nagar Palika, Bhopal.
Secondly, the students visited Material Recovery Plant and Plastic Processing Centre. The students
were very inspired by Mr. Ali's idea and appreciated the innovative and environment friendly
model.

Students of first year from CSE and EX branches visited Regional Science Centre. The Museum aims
to promote Science & Technology among the students, through exhibition gallery, science spark,
sky observation shows.

Surgical Strike Day Celebration


The air of patriotism blew in the Oriental Campus on the occasion of Surgical Strike Day
celebration. The gathering was addressed by Lt. Col. Kapil Bhama, Commissioned in Indian Army
Dec. 1988, in Infantry (Madras Regiment). The occasion commenced with the NÇC parade and the
Chief Guest was escorted by the cadets to the auditorium for a brief cultural program. The students
were informed about the surgical strike operation and its importance. The session brought a sense
of pride among the students.

Former RAW Chief at Oriental Campus


The guest lecture held on 1st October, 2018 had a special significance as it was taken up by Shri A.S.
Dulat Former Chief of Research & Analysis Wing (RAW), a Foreign Intelligence Agency, set up by
Govt. of India.
The SAC students' initiative, a fortnightly e-newsletter of OGI was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, in
the presence of all the dignitaries.

Hands-On workshop on PYTHON
To enlighten the students about basics of Python, Department of MCA, Oriental Institute of Science
& Technology, Bhopal, organized a Hands-On workshop on “PYTHON" in the presence of the expert
Mr. Vilekh Advadkar from Universal Informatics, Indore. The main focus of the workshop was to
impart practical knowledge to the students. The workshop was attended by the students of MCA
3rd & 5th semester and they found it quite interesting and informative.

Presentations on "Innovative India” to enhance Communication Skills

The students of IT and EX branch, Basic Science Department, OCT, gave a PPT presentation on the
topic "Innovative India". The event was organized with the objective to develop Communication
Skills among the students.

Session on “How to Crack GD/ PI” for MBA Students
Oriental MBA students were given a detailed exposure on "Cracking GD" by Mr. Gautam Surana,
Director Endeavour Group based at Surat, Gujrat. He took a session on "How to overcome language
barrier, be logical, improve GK and contribute fruitfully in a GD session". The SAC, OCM expressed
gratitude for his practical tips on GD.

Workshop for MBA students on “Art of Writing Examinations”


A workshop on "Art of Writing Examinations" was conducted by Dr. P. K. Chopra and Dr. Shikha
Bhargava to enlighten the students.

A series of aptitude test initiated for first year students


OCT Students of all branches participated with great enthusiasm. The series was started with the
topic "Profit & Loss”.

One Day Workshop on "Employability Skills" for Oriental MBA

The use of practical methods for goal setting, adopting new skills & invoking confidence in 3 rd
semester students to face interviews, a practical approach was given by Mr. Pradeep Karambelkar,
MD Vision Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd.
Mr. Swapnil Tripathi, CEO My Skills took a session on clarity of career option and Mr. Parag Adlak,
CEO Awzpact Technologies Pvt. Ltd. demonstrated the art of facing interviews, through mock
session. It was a great learning experience for all the students.

Motivational Speaker Dr. Pooja Mehta took a session on "How to Stay Focused"
for Oriental MBA students. It was a one to one session which included various exercises.

CAMPUS RECRUITMENT PROCESS

A seminar on “Campus Recruitment Process” was conducted at OCP for students of B- Pharm 5th
and 7th semester. The session was taken by Mr. Sanket Bhatia, G.M Endeavor Careers (Bhopal). He
discussed about basic career aspects & how to prepare for G.D. & P.I.

It is a matter of great privilege that Ms. Sarita Karole, faculty of Oriental College of Pharmacy
received the "Academic Brilliance Award" at International Conference on ICIPMBS-2018, organized
by Oriental University, Indore.
The honor was bestowed by Prof. Shailendra Saraf, Vice President of PCI, Dr. Shashikala, MLA and
Dr. K.L. Thakral Chancellor of Oriental University, Indore.

PADHE BHOPAL CAMPAIGN

Oriental Campus absorbed in “Padhe Bhopal” Campaign


It was quite an absorbing moment for Oriental students when they all sat together in the 800 seater
auditorium to witness 'पढे भोपाल' campaign where the staff and students read books of all genres.
The session of 45 minutes was conducted not only in the auditorium but simultaneously in all the
departments of all the Institutes.

The activity was conducted under the aegis of RGPV Bhopal as per instructions of honorable
Governor, MP Government of India. It was a refreshing change as such activity would definitely
benefit the students in the era where students have gone online and forgotten books altogether.

The program witnessed the presence of members of Management and Administration of the Group.
