Architecture
What is Architecture? Why is it important? Who’s the one who creates the Architecture?
These are questions that we might have. Architecture is one of the most impactful things of
human history. It is the only way we have everything today. An architect is the person behind
everything. They are the one who designs. They take people’s ideas and make them reality. We
are going to talk about how architects use computer-Aided-Design, the different stages of the
building process, the different types of job in architecture, architects schedules for a month and
day to day, the schooling process, architect work ethic, architects environment, and last how
much architects get pay. Architecture is super interesting to me because it super cool to see what
ideas people have and how they design it. I’ve always loved making things with legos and the
computer game minecraft. Designing houses and boats. It is fun and I love to create whatever
comes to my mind. Not everyone is creative. I love creating and that is why I want to be an
architect. I will be able to use my creativity to help people get what they want out of their heads.
Architecture is one of the most important aspect of a structure. It’s the reason things can
stay upright. If we didn’t have architecture we wouldn’t have any of the buildings we have today.
Everything relies on architecture. The architecture is the skeleton of a structure. It is the part that
keep up a structure. The importance of architecture is shown in many building across the world.
The Eiffel Tower is an excellent example of architecture. If you look very closely you can see
Brady 2
that they use mostly triangles. Triangles are used because they’re the strongest shape in the
architecture world. This is because they don’t deform when under lots of pressure. If they didn’t
use triangles and use squares, after a while the squares would start to deform and make it tilt to
one side. Then after tilting for awhile the structure would eventually fall over. This is why
architecture is crucial because when it is used right it will keep us safe and make it where the
that helps an architects show their ideas to their customers and bring it to life. This program has
many pluses, but that also means it has many cons. One pro is that it make it easier to see it in
3D. This brings it to life and makes it easier for clients to see visually what they’re buying. One
of the cons is that you can get caught in a CAD trap. In the study by Husameddin M. Dawoud
said, that can result from a low level of engagement during the design process. CAD can be very
helpful but it can also hinder you. It can make your level of engagement go down when the
design process is happening which will make it more likely to make more mistakes. Husameddin
M. Dawoud also said, One possible reason that could account for these negative effects is a low
level of motivation. Which could limit the architects ideation and the designer forces.
Computer-Aided-Design make it super easy to see your creation in 3D rather on paper using pen
or pencil to draw the design. It also makes it much easier to access from anywhere. You
basically have access to it anywhere or anytime. You use to have to always have the blueprints
There are many different careers in architecture. You can go into naval architecture,
landscape architecture, commercial architecture, residential architecture and many more. All
Brady 3
these different jobs do different things. For example if you go into naval architects you would
work on different types of boats. If you go into landscape architecture you on designs of parks,
outdoor spaces of campuses, recreational facilities, businesses, private homes, and other open
areas. All careers in architect have big roles in the many different areas of the world. They have
two thing in common that is working with the basic structure and the design of something. They
make sure everything is done correctly and will not fall apart when used.
Architects work on daily and monthly schedules. Architects daily schedules are flexible
most of the time. They usually they will work on current projects or they would meet with
clients. An architect who works on a monthly schedules will usually be working on many
projects and would have many different meetings for each individual project. Architects are busy
and can work 70-100 hrs a week. Architects do lots of different things. They have to be able to
work around problems that come up and be creative as they solve those problems.
Architects have many years of schooling and experiences. With these skills they become
a very skilled architect. In the U.S you need at least a bachelor’s and in some states it is required
to have a masters degree. You have to be in a three year paid internship program that is from the
National Council Of Architectural Registration Boards. After that you pass the exam from the
National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). This allows you to be licensed
in any state. You will need to maintain your license yearly. To maintain their licenses, architects
in most states must pursue continuing education through classes, conferences and workshops.
Some architects can become licensed in more than one state by obtaining a voluntary
This mean that if the Architect doesn’t keep up and goes to these class, conferences or workshop
they will loss their jobs as an Architect. It is very important for architects to do this. So they they
your A-game and ready to work, and work hard. They need to stay focused and be able to deal
with the problems that will come up. As I’ve mentioned before an architect has to work lots of
hours. When they have worked 70+ hours in a week. They have to be efficient to get things done
and done on time or schedule. They don’t get to slow down especially with deadlines. When they
keep up the stress of getting things dones is moderate and they can offer the best work they can.
Architects work in environments that can be busy and seem a bit crazy. They mostly work in an
office, but may have to be on a job site to make sure things are done correctly and on time. They
meet with clients, develop reports, design there projects, and work with other architects and
engineers. If an architect doesn't get things done before the deadlines he could lose the job. When
you are working on several different projects that can very stressful. To add to that all of the
projects are not going to be at the same stage of design and the intensity of build. They could be
working on a cookie cutter home design, a church building and an office build.
Architects median salary is around 78,470 in May of 2017. There is about 128,800
employed architects in the United States. Bls.gov says, the lowest 10 percent earned less than
$47,480, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $134,610. So as an architect their is a
pretty big gap in between the bottom 10% and the top 10%. There is just over 85k in between
them. That means on average about 12,880 architects are making over $134,610. At the same
time many architects making under $47,480. It also depends the type of architect you’re and
Brady 5
what type of work they do. They can work for the government, construction, engineering, or you
could be self-employed. Here are some listing for of these categories and their medians. Amelia
Josephson states that, if you work for government you will make $89,720, construction-$79,110,
have the beautiful structures that make our views different. Why is it so important? It is
important because it the only way we have everything today. If we didn’t have architecture
nothing would work. Everything wouldn’t be stable and would fall apart. Architecture takes a
lot of work and it can be a stressful job. There needs to be someone willing to do this to create
designs to make our cities beautiful and different. I hope that you will walk away from this
essay being more thankful for the creativity of the architect to create the beautiful architecture
