I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to;
A. Identify the various types of speech context; and (EN11/12OC-Ifj-15)
B. Distinguish them from one another.
III. Procedure
A. Activity
Activity 1: Picture Analysis
-let students say something about the pictures posted.
Activity 2
-In a group, let students present a short skit that captures the type of speech context that
assigned to them.
Group 1: Intrapersonal Communication
Group 2: Interpersonal Communication
Group 3: Public Communication
Group 4: Mass Communication
B. Analysis
Based on the situations given of each group, what now is speech context?
Process students presentations
C. Abstraction:
Students will generalize what have been discussed.
D. Application
Identify, describe, and analyze speech contexts using photographs
IV. Evaluation
Identify the type of speech context appropriate for the following situation.
1. President Duterte delivered his first state of the nation address.
2. I told my bestfriend about my problem to seek her advice.
3. I had a hard time analyzing my homework on mathematical equations.
4. I had a date with my boyfriend last Valentine’s Day.
5. Atom Araullo had a live coverage of the Yolanda tragedy.
6. I was thinking between going to the mall and online shopping to avoid traffic.
7. The English Communicators Club will have a closed-door meeting later.
8. President Donald Trump delivered his speech during the ASEAN SUMMIT.
9. She looked at the mirror and talked to herself.
10. As a journalist, Maria Ressa wrote an articles about the RAPPLER ban.
V. Assignment:
Capture photos in home, school and community showing the types of speech context. Use the
photos to come up with a brochure.
