Prevention vs.

Remediation
 Mas binibigyang halaga dapat ng mga
educators yung more on prevention instead of
remediation or yung pagresolba na ng
problema ng ating mga estyudyante.
 WHY PREVENTION? There’s a saying na
“ PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE”
 So as the teacher we only act as a vitamins or
a “FIRST AIDER” ng ating mga estyudyante
from preventing them to a serious problem.
 We will serve as student’s vitamins in a same
way na magiging SHIELD nila tayo that can
protect them from a potential serious
situation.
Listening
 Is the ability to accurately and interpret
messages in the communication process.
 Without the ability to listen properly, the
messages are easily misunderstood.
So meron daw mga factors na nakaka apekto s
ability ng isang guro na making sa ating mga
estyudyante.
1. Lack of Interest
2. Noise
3. Personal Bias
4. Distrations
Gangs
 Children or student may think that being in a
gang may be exciting and rewarding, but the
reality is different…..
 Being a part of a gang puts our student at a
risk of the following:
1. Committing crime
2. Dealing, trafficking or taking drugs.
3. A criminal record if they reached 18
years old.
4. Violence or death (pinaka worst part)
(Why do children or student join gangs?)
 For protection from others
 Sense of identity
 Respect
 Family members are gang members
 For potential sexual partners
 Out of fear, threats
(Signs that our Students joining the gangs.)
1. Interest in a gang clothing
2. Interest in a gangster – influenced music
and videos.
3. Hand signals to communicate w/friends
4. Carries a weapon
5. Negative changes in behavior
 Withdrawing from family
 Declining school attendance
Pamamaraan upang makatulong ang parents para
ma PREVENT yung pagsali ng estyudyante nila sa
gangs.
1. Spend quality time sa bata
2. Get involved sa school activities ng anak
mo.
3. Kailangan din na maging role model tayo sa
isat isa.
4. Alamain mo yung mga kaibigan ng anak
mo.
5. I encouraged mo yung anak mo na sumali
sa afterschool activities tulad ng
 Recreation centers
 Organized sports
 Youth program
6. explain mo sa bata kung ano ano ang mga
possible na panganib o consequences sa
pagsali ng bata sa gangs.
Dropouts
Teenage Pregnancy
 About 500 teenage girls give birth in the
Philippies every day as more adolescents
engage in premarital sex. According sa
Commision on Population ng pilipinas.
 Then sabi nila about 196,000 filipinos
between 15 to 19 years old get pregnant
each year.
 Yung pagtaas ng teenage pregnancy ng
pilipinas is nakakapag contribute sa
Population crisis ng bansa.
 At nagiging resulta daw nitu ay marami ang
nawawalan ng trabaho.
 Ika nga sabi nila “Mas marami ang na po-
produce na Pilipino kaysa sa Trabaho.
Prevention:
As a computer shop owner marami akong na
experienced na related to pornography na
pinapanuod ng mga customers especially mga
elementary student na akala mo eh gumagawa
lang ng project eh iba na pala yung ginagawa.
So ayun how can I help to prevent children from
watching pornography sa shop.
 Install blocking software
 Search pornography website then block them
using blocking software.

Sa tingin nyu ano pa ba ang mga ways para ma


prevent yung teenage pregnancy?
Substance Abuse
 There is a wrong understanding that our
teenagers today are characterize as a bad
person.
 Maraming parents todays that ASSUME that
their teenagers uses drugs, alcohol etc.
because of rebellious act.
 But for us as a teacher, parents, counselor,
 In order to understand them, WE have to put
ourselves in their SHOES and imagine what
they really experiencing.
 So ginawa ko toh!!
 So nung nagaral ako sa TESDA, I met this
particular group na kung saan ay lage lage
silang umiinom ng alak at nagbibisyo.
 So sabi ko sa sarili ko na baling araw na
maging teacher man ako, eh mae encounter
ko yung mga ganitung problema ng
estyudyante ko.
 Sumama ako sa kanila then inalam ko yung
mga nagiging DAHILAN nila kaya sila
sumasama sa mga ganitong Gawain.

Sam, Sham, Haya at Pamela – may matagal ng


problema sa pamilya (very conflicated)
Jhen at fhebe – problema sa asawa (Long
distance relationship)
Paul – may problema sa INA.
Justin – may problema sa tatay.
Kev – special yung problema nya… hindi nya
ma enjoy yung kalagayan ng buhay nya
ngayon… parang LONER yung pagkatao nya..
kaya suma sama sya lage sa grupo ara maging
masaya.
School Violence
 As educators marami tayong mae-experienced
na mga bad attitude ng ating mga estyudyante
katulad ng mga attention seekers, palaaway,
mga nagba-vandal, yung nang i-istorbo ng
klase, at yung palakalat sa eskwelahan.
 Malaki ang impluwensya ng pamamaraan ng
pagpapalaki ng isang magulang sa bata para
hindi ito maging bayolente sa eskwela.
 Malaki rin ang nagiging impluwensya ng
kapaligiran ng isang estyudyante sa
ikahuhubog ng kanyang paguugali.

Sa tingin nyu sino ang mas na nakaka


impluwensya sa pagigiging bayolente ng bata?

Yung laging kasama ang mga magulang nila o


yung mga bata na laging nasa labas ng bahay?
Child Abuse
Child Abuse can develop a life long issues from
insecurity to intimacy.
 Verbal abuse- harsh word, curse word from
parent… it increased in developing personality
disorder.
 Shaming – ito yung pamamaraan ng mga
magulang para makontrol nila yung mga anak
nila.
- ito yung nagdudulot ng katiwalaan ng
isang bata sa kanyang sarili.
- hanggang sa kalaunan ay nawawalan na
rin ang bata ng tiwala sa kanyang mga
magulang.
- hanggang sa paglaki ng bata nawawalan
na rin yung SOCIAL CONNECTIONS nito sa
mga tao.
Sexual Abuse – ang sexual abuse naman ay
yung may mas matagalang epekto sa bata
- Nagkakaroon ang bata ng tinatawag na
“POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER”
- Sila yung mga taong sa natatakot na
pumasok sa isang relasyon dahil nga sa
nangyari sa kanila.
- Mga LONER kung tawagin na tila sila
mismo yung mga naglalayo ng mga sarili
nila sa tao. Ayaw nilang makihalubilo sa tao
sa takot na may mangyari ulet sa kanila.
Neglect – ito yung pagpapabaya ng
magulang sa isang bata… “EMOTIONALLY
NEEDS AT PHYSICALLY NEEDS” ng isang
bata… Sa physical needs ditto papasok
yung hindi maibigay ng magulang yung
financial da kailangan ng isang bata.
Physical Abuse – eto yung pisikal na
ginagawa na parusa ng isang magulang sa
kanyang anak tulad ng:
1. Pamamalo
2. Paninipa
3. Panununtok
4. Pagkagat
5. Etc.
Terrorism
 Eto yung sanhi ng pagka hinto ng pag aaral ng
mga estyudyante natin particularly sa parte ng
Mindanao.
 Kung saan eto ay nagbibigay ng malaking takot
sa ating mga estyudyante.
 Hindi lang takot ang idinudulot nito sa atin
kundi, ito rin ay nagdudulot ng pagkawala ng
buhay n gating mga estyudyante, ari arian nila,
pati mga kabuhayan nila.
