EXCERPT FROM THE MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL SESSION OF THE 7th COUNCIL HELD AT THE BARANGAY
SESSION HALL ON JULY 2, 2018.

PRESENT:

Barangay Resolution No. 001-2018

“A BARANGAY RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE HOUSE RULES OF THE 7TH COUNCIL OF


BARANGAY”

WHEREAS,Article 105 of the Rules and Regulations Implementing the Local Government Code of 1991,
provides that on the first day of the session immediately following the election of its members, the Sanggunian shall,
by resolution, fix the day, time, and place of its regular sessions.

WHEREAS, it has been a fundamental belief of the Sanggunian that adopting the House Rules of
the 7th Council is a shared responsibility of its members in order to come up with effective legislation;

WHEREAS, the full text of said House Rules be read as follows:

RULE 1

LEGISLATIVE BODIES, COMPOSITION AND MEMBERSHIP

Section I – The Sangguniang Barangay of t shall be composed of the Punong Barangay who shall
be the Presiding Officer, the seven (7) Sangguniang Barangay Members, the Chairman of the Sangguniang
Kabataan, and one (1) Indigenous People mandatory Representative (IPMR).

RULE II

DUTIES OF THE PUNONG BARANGAY MAGUGPO EAST

Section 1 –

a. To preside over the Session of the Sangguniang Barangay;

b. To preserve proper decorum and conduct in the hall, he shall take such measures he may deem
proper, or so the body shall decide

c. To decide all questions of order, subject to the members right of the appeal to the body.
