Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity
A. Preliminary Activities
All rise.
Prayer
Ivhan, kindly lead the prayer. Ivhan will lead the prayer.
Greetings
Good Morning Boron! Good Morning Ma’am!
Classroom Management
Before you sit down, pick up the
pieces of paper under your chair and
arrange your chairs properly. Students will follow the instruction.
It seems that the classroom is in very
good condition and with that, give
yourselves a “Five claps” Students will do the clap.
Checking of Attendance
Are all of you are on your proper
seating arrangement? Yes, Ma’am!
Very good!
Class secretary who are the absentees
today? Class secretary: No absentees for today
Ma’am!
I’ am really glad to hear that no one is
absent on your class today! Why
don’t you give yourselves another
“Five claps” Students will do the clap.

I believe I gave you an assignment,

am I right? Yes, Ma’am!
Please bring it out and pass it to the
aisle and then forward. The student will pass their assignment.

Review
Now, before we proceed to our new
lesson, let us have a short review of
our previous lesson.
Can somebody tell me what our topic
yesterday is? (Students will raise their hand)
Ma’am our topic yesterday is all Incomplete
Dominance.
Alright, very good.
And what is Incomplete Dominance? (Students will raise their hand)
Ma’am Incomplete dominance is a form of
intermediate inheritance in which one allele
for a specific trait is not completely
expressed over its paired allele. This results
in a third phenotype in which the expressed
physical trait is a combination of the
phenotypes of both alleles.

Exactly!
And what about Genotype? (Students will raise their hand)
Ma’am, Your genotype is your complete
heritable genetic identity; it is your unique
genome that would be revealed by personal
genome sequencing.

That is correct!
Anyone can Phenotype? (Students will raise their hand)
Ma’am, Phenotype is a description of your
actual physical characteristics. This includes
straightforward visible characteristics like
your height and eye color,

Excellent!
Very Good class!
It seems you really mastered our topic
yesterday.
Why don’t you give yourselves
another five claps? (Students do the claps).

B. Motivation
Now, are you all ready to lend not
just only your ears, but also your
eyes?
And of course your attention.

Okay, let me check if you are all now

ready. When I say 1, you will say
HOORAY once, and when I say 2
you will say HEPHEP once.
So, 1122, 1221, 2112 HOORAY, HOORAY, HEPHEP, HEPHEP
HOORAY, HEPHEP

Very good! I think you are all set!

Now, let us have a short activity

before we proceed to our new topic.
The title of this activity is “Imagine
where are you”

Now here are the instructions;

1. You’re going to close your eyes
2. Feel and listen to the sounds that I
will be playing to you.
3. And that sounds will bring you to
some places.

Are you ready? Yes, Ma’am!

So now, close your eyes. (Students will close their eyes)

(Playing the audio) (Students are listening)

What do you feel?

Where the sounds bring you? Ma’am in the Forest.
Very Good!
What else? Ma’am in the Ocean or Sea.

Yes, Very Good!

Another? Where the sounds bring
you? Ma’am in the city. And in the restaurant.

Okay class, all your answers are

correct.
So give yourselves five claps. (Students will do the claps)

C. Discussion

Class, have you enjoyed listening to

the sounds that I played? Yes, Ma’am we enjoyed it.
What do you felt when you heard the
sounds? Ma’am its stress relieving, I feel so good
From the places that you have said,
can you give me species that is living
on that place?
In the forest what species can you see
there? Ma’am Monkey
Ma’am Bird… and so on.

Correct!
What about in the sea? Ma’am Dolphins, whales, sea lion…and so
on.

Exactly!
What about in the city? Ma’am Dogs, cats, humans…

Very Good!
All of your answers are correct.
Class, can you imagine your life
without birds in the morning?
Can you imagine life without dogs,
cats, butterflies and frogs and fishes?
Can you imagine life without trees?
Can you imagine life without man?
.
Is it possible to live without these
kinds of species? No, Ma’am!

You’re right!
Because everything here in Earth
matters.
Remember the quote “No man is an
Island”, You cannot live alone, you
need someone in order to survive.
Every Species here in Earth has a
purpose or role even the cockroaches,
mosquitos, snakes has its role in the
biodiversity.

Today, you will learn;

a. What Biodiversity is?
b. What are the threats in the
Biodiversity?
c. And at the end of the lesson you
will learn how to appreciate
things in the Biodiversity.

Class look at the picture.

Can someone share his/her thoughts
about it? (Students will raise their hand)
Ma’am Biodiversity is different kind of
species.

Yes, Very Good!

Another answer? Biodiversity is the living things that we see
every day.

Correct!
All of your answers are correct.
So, now let us define first What is
Biodiversity.

Class, What is Bio? (Student will raise their hand)

Ma’am Bio means Life.

Very Good!
Bio is a Latin word means Life.
And how about diversity? What is
Diversity? (Student will raise their hand)
Ma’am Diversity is variety.
Exactly!
Diversity is Variety.
In short Biodiversity means? (Students will raise their hand)
Ma’am Biodiversity means Variety of Life.

Very Good!
Can somebody read the another
definition of Biodiversity? (Students will raise their hand)
Biodiversity is defined as the variety of life
forms in the entire Earth. It encompasses all
kinds of life forms, from the single-celled
organism to the largest multi-celled
organisms. Its definition is in structural and
functional perspective and not as individual
species.

Thank You!
Biodiversity is defined as the variety
of living things or species.
And class can you give an example of
Single-celled organism?
Single-celled organism are the
smallest living organisms that
contains all the features of life. (Students will raise their hand)
Ma’am Bacteria.
Ma’am Virus.

Very Good!
We will going to have an activity.
Here’s what’s going to happen;
The first student will stand up and
clap and say 1, the next student will
follow and say 2 and so on… Until
we reach the last student in the back.

Are you ready?

Okay, Let’s start. Yes, Ma’am!
(The students will do the activity)

Okay. Very Good!

What’s the last number? Ma’am the last number was 40.

Now, that is your Population in the

Classroom.
You may now sit down.
Based on the activity what we did,
What is Population? (Student will raise their hand)
Ma’am, Population is the total number of
people living in the same place.

Very Good!
But population can also be the total
number of all living things or
living species in a particular place or
area.

Now that we learned about

Population.
Let us now have a “Memory Game”.
Do you know how to play a Memory
Game?
There are 12 tiles on the board.
Each tile has a fruit, you’re going to
find the pair of that certain fruit.
And if you got the correct pair,
you’ll going to remove it in order
reveal the important image at the
back.
Okay, let’s start. Can I have a
volunteer? (Students will raised their hand)
(Student will do the activity)

Now, class what is the image that we

have unveiled? Students: Ma’am a Dodo Duck!

Yes, that’s right!

Can we still find Dodo Duck on Earth
or in our Environment? Students: No, Ma’am!

Exactly!
Because Dodo Duck are considered
Extinct!

(On PPT Presentation)

Extinct.

Let us have another Memory Board. (Students will do the activity)

Now, class what is the image that we

have unveiled? Students: Ma’am a Tamaraw!

That’s correct!
Can we still find Tamaraw in the
Philippines? Students: Yes, Ma’am but they are only few.

That’s right!
Today, Tamaraws are considered are
Endangered Species.

(On PPt Presentation)

Endangered.

Now, let us have our last Memory

Board. (Students will do the activity)

Class, what is the image that we

have unveiled? Students: Ma’am it’s a Pig!

That’s a Pig. But specifically it is

called Philippine Warty Pig of
Negros and those Species
are considered Threatened.

(On PPt Presentation)

Threatened.
Now, that you know about Extinct,
Endangered and Threatened. Can
Somebody differentiate the three? (Student will raise their hand)
Ma’am Extinct are the species that is no
longer exists and has no living
representative. Endangered species are the
Species are the species that have very small
population. While Threatened, a particular
species that decline so fast that is becomes
endangered.

Very Good!
Extinction occurs when the last
member of a species dies. And when
the population of a species begins
declining rapidly, the species is said
to be Threatened species. And the
species is Endangered when its
population is so low that is nearly
Extinct.

ACTIVITY

Now that you know about Extinct,

Endangered and Threatened Species,
Let us know why they became like
this.

Let us have an activity. I will group

you into 5, you’re going to solve a
Puzzle .
After solving it you’re going to
choose two representative of your
group that will explain the image you
have unveiled and how these affect
the Population of Species.

This will be the group 1, 2 and so on.

Rules:
Do it quietly and do it for 5 minutes.
And after 5 minutes each group will
Present their work in front.

Okay, class you may now start doing

your activity. (Students will start doing their activity)

(After 5 minutes)
Okay class time is up. You may now
post your work on the board.
(Students will post their work)
Group 1: Habitat Loss and Destruction

Students: Habitat loss and destruction is the

process by which natural habitat is damaged
or destroyed to such an extent that it no
longer is capable of supporting the species
and ecological communities that naturally
occur there. It often results in the extinction
of species and, as a result, the loss of
biodiversity.
Very good, Group 1.
Habitat Loss and destruction is when
a natural habitat, such as a forest or
wetland, is altered so dramatically
that it no longer supports the species
it originally sustained. Plant and
animal populations are destroyed or
displaced, leading to a loss of
biodiversity.

Okay next Group 2, kindly present

your work.
Group 2: Overexploitation

Students: Overexploitation, also called

overharvesting, refers to harvesting a
renewable resource to the point of
diminishing returns. Continued
overexploitation can lead to the destruction
of the resource.
Very Good, Group 2!
Overexploitation is the overuse of
renewable resources to the point that
it no longer renews as it once did.

Okay next Group 3, kindly present

your work.
Group 3: Water and Air Pollution

Students: Water pollution occurs when

harmful substances—often chemicals or
microorganisms—contaminate a stream,
river, lake, ocean, aquifer, or other body of
water, degrading water quality and rendering
it toxic to humans or the environment. While
Air pollution is a mixture of solid particles
and gases in the air. Car emissions,
chemicals from factories, dust, pollen and
mold spores may be suspended as particles.
Ozone, a gas, is a major part of air pollution
in cities. When ozone forms air pollution, it's
also called smog. Some air pollutants are
poisonous.

Very Good, Group 3!

Pollution is the introduction of
contaminants into the natural
environment that cause adverse
change.

Next, Group 4.
Group 4: Climate Change & Global
Warming

Students: Climate change is a change in

climate that can be identified by the changes
in the mean and/or variability of its
properties and that persists for an extended
period typically decades or longer, whether
due to natural variability or as a result of
human activity.
Global warming is one of the major
evidences of climate change that result to
increase in sea levels, increase in
temperature and acidity of oceans, melting
of ice caps, higher incidence of hurricanes,
droughts typhoons and forest fires, and
spread of climate-related diseases.

Very Good, Group 4!

Climate change is caused by the
build-up of greenhouse gases in the
atmosphere. Greenhouse gas
emissions can come from both
natural sources and man made
activities. But it is man made
activities like fossil fuel use,
deforestation, intensive livestock
farming, use of synthetic fertilizers,
and industrial processes that worsen
the problem.

Okay, last group you may now

explain your work.
Group 5: Over Population

Students: The growth of the human

population has impacted the planet and
affected biodiversity. The need for food,
space and raw materials has resulted in
destruction of habitats and pollution.

Very Good, Group 5!

Over population can harm our natural
resources and it is the main reason
why our environment are destroying.
Overpopulation is associated with
negative environmental and economic
outcomes ranging from the impacts of
over-farming, deforestation, and
water pollution to eutrophication and
global warming.

Okay class, Give yourselves a Aling

Dionisia Clap. (Students will do the clap)

Now class, you have learned what the

threats in the Biodiversity are.
Can somebody give the threats that
we have tackled? (Student raise their hands)
Ma’am the threats in the Biodiversity that
we tackled are;
-Habitat Loss and Destruction
-Overexploitation
-Air Pollution
-Water Pollution
-Climate Change
-Global Warming
-Pollution

Very Good Class!

Why don’t you give yourselves a
five claps? (Student will do the claps)
D. Application

You have learned the Biodiversity

and the Threats in the
Biodiversity.
Let us now apply your knowledge of
what you’ve learned today in a game.
Are you familiar to the games “Who
wants to be a Millionaire?”
There are 15 questions, 1 question for
each level and it has corresponding
for each correct answer you get.
Anyone can answer but the first one
to stand up who will be one chosen to
answer!

Are you ready?

Let’s start the game! Yes, Ma’am we’re ready!

(The game starts)

Have you enjoyed the game? Yes, Ma’am!

E. Generalization

For us to summarize what you have

learnt today. Can somebody fill in
this blanks;

I know that, I Know about

__________________________.
First I know that
__________________________.
In addition I know that
__________________________.
Finally I know that
__________________________.

Anything that you’ve learned today

you can fill it in the blank. Who
wants to volunteer to share his/her
learning for this day? (Students raise their hands)
Ma’am I know that, I know about
Biodiversity. Fist I know that it is the variety
of species. In addition I know that Extinct
Species are the species that you can no
longer be seen, Endangered species are the
Species are the species that have very small
population. While Threatened, a particular
species that decline so fast that is becomes
endangered. Finally I know that, there are
things that threatened the Biodiversity.
Great!
It seems that you’ve already mastered
our lesson for today. Kindly give
yourselves five claps.

F. Valuing

Since you have learned a lot today

about Biodiversity. Let us watch a
video to have a deeper understanding
about Biodiversity and to value what
you have learned today.

Are you ready to watch? Yes, Ma’am!

Since you are ready, let’s play the

video.

(The video was playing) (Students are watching)

Class after watching the video, what

did you feel? Can someone share
their ideas or learnings from it? (Students raise their hand)
Student answers vary.

Excellent! Job class!

Give yourselves another “Aling
Dionisia Clap”. (Students do the clap)
