Staging Design

This document summarizes the design of staging and scaffolding for casting a 40m long prestressed concrete girder bridge. It includes: - Design of secondary runners spaced at 1.2m using ISMB 150 sections, checking stresses are below allowable limits. - Design of primary runners spaced at 2m using ISMB 200 sections, also checking stresses are below limits. - Cribs will be constructed using 450x450mm sections made of ISA 50 steel, with properties calculated. The document provides calculations to ensure the staging and scaffolding can adequately support the weight of wet concrete and formwork during construction of the bridge girder.

Actual bending tension = M/Zxx = 43.56 MPa
OK
l= 200 cm
l /r min = 93.02 Say 95
D/T = 200/10.8= 18.5 Say 20
d1/t = (200-2*10.8)/5.7= 31.3 <= 85
T/t = 10.8/5.7= 1.89 <=2
From Tables G.6, G.7 and G.8 of IRC:24,
