Here is how I would handle the situation while maintaining confidentiality: I would have to politely decline providing any confidential documents to my friend. As an employee, I signed an agreement to keep all case information private. Releasing documents could jeopardize ongoing investigations and violate my duties. ACTIVITY 2 | Situational Analysis

CONFIDENTIALITY IN THE WORKPLACE

Suppose you work in a police station or a law firm and signed a confidentiality agreement
regarding all their cases at hand, suddenly your friend who was a suspect to a crime asked you for some
documents that are in your office’s possession that may help him in his case. How would you deal with
the situation?
Answer:
Confidentialityprotects a broad range of information, including the identity of clients, medical
records, and immigration status, and other information. Confidentiality is of paramount importance.
Maintaining confidentiality in the workplace is important for building and maintaining trust, and for
ensuring an open and honest communication between customers, clients, and employees.

In the situation above given, I would definitely reject his/her favour. Since, I am working in a
workplace where cases are sensitive and confidential and are handled properly for privacy,
professionalism should be practiced and an utmost priority. It would be my fault if I give him the
information he/she needed. Seemingly, a person who works should know what files or materials he/she
is permitted to access and disseminate in the office and he/she should adhere to that. Going back to the
situation being given, personal relationship should be set-aside because the informations should be
prioritized. If I would give him/her the confidential information, the client would be at stake and also
myself. Due to the fact that he/she can file legal suits against the company I am working at, if he/she
feels that I am disseminating some secret information regarding the client we are handling. Data related
to the personal details of the client should be kept well under wraps because if they are misused, it can
lead to discrimination and information alteration. If it occurs, a breach of confidentiality would
transpire because I have no rights or the proper consent of the client we are handling.

In general, protecting confidential information is vital. If you are in a position where you have
access to or are given this type of data at work, your career relies on your ability to keep patient or
client confidentiality. Moreover, if you don’t, you could lose trust and integrity in the eyes of your
existing client, who could terminate your contract and take legal action against you.

ACTIVITY 3 | Conflict Resolution

Did you ever experience disagreement and conflict with co-workers? How did you handle the
situation? How would you rate your skills in handling differences of opinion? Please give an example
that illustrates that skill.

Answer:

Conflict is a normal part of any healthy relationship with other people. Seemingly, conflict in the
workplace is inevitable. It can cause and is a key reason for poor productivity and frustration. No one
can benefit when this conflicts are ignored- not the staff, not the managers and certainly not you.

As I have said above, conflict is inevitable and I do personally believe that no one here on this
earth have not yet experienced this phenomena because I have experienced it. As a licensed teacher, it is
quite common to encounter this problem. When you are a teacher, you are used to handling conflict
students and even parents. Handling conflict and tension can be a challenge for even the most seasoned
assistant teaching. Although you can do your best to establish and maintain a positive classroom space
for all of your students, conflicts may arise. One of the conflict I have experience is the wisecracks and
nasty insult from my students. In order to handle or suppress the situation, I would tell the student
frankly that “what makes it funny?”. One thing I have learned from this is to not to devote too much time
and attention to such behaviour; however, if I were to ignore such behaviour, it rarely diminishes their
presence and will instead create an atmosphere of unresolved and ongoing tension in the classroom. In
disagreement and confrontation, I would seek guidance from a more experienced person, i.e.,
department heads and coordinators, for they have dealt with similar problems and can advise you on
appropriate steps. Students sometimes sense an inexperience and believe they can “get away with it”.
For these reasons, and for reassurance it gives, it is usually best to discuss your interpersonal problems
with someone who can help you. If I were to rate myself from handling the situation, it would be 8 out
of 10. Because there are things I needed to learn and improve aside from the things I have mention
above.

MY REFLECTIONS
How did the experience change me as a person, and how will it help me in the future.

I have been working as a teacher for about 2 years now and it has been a good experience. I
am happy of what I do. A lot of people thought that being a teacher grants you a fancy salary, that
you could brag about. Well in fact, the experiences and the people whom you have served about
matters the most. When I was a kid, I am usually mesmerized on a person who has the confident to
speak in front of a large crowd. A person who holds inked-pens for writing and a big book full of
names. I knew it already, I like to become a teacher. Being a teacher is not that easy. Starting your
day holding a pen instead of food, a pillow for a bag full of lesson plans and other related teaching
stuffs, a bucket full of patience, not for yourself but to the people whom you will be serving,
“Students”. I guess, I am not the only one teacher to experience facing a student with a bad day.
Those types of students, who will laugh at you even you are serious explaining a certain topic to
them. It’s a sad reality for a teacher to experience such act of belittle in a student. But instead of
arguing them, I let them realize that what I have disseminated to them will not benefit me anymore, it
would be them. It taught me to become patient. Teaching is fun and will be funnier after seeing your
students devouring every single thought you have uttered in front of them. And my students were
able to give me the experience and the realization that, the world has infinite treasures for you to
find. A treasure that will help you to keep in pace.
In conclusion, being a teacher changed me a lot. What I have learned so far is that, it is
through reflecting about the actions at work and the concrete experiences that will lead you to
recognizing that the experience has forged a new way for you. Every day you learn and every day
you get closer to your own pinnacle of success.
