2. ICOW the above reference, all Provincial Fire Marshals, City/ Municipal Fire
Marshals, OICs and FPOs are directed to make and submit their Implementation
Plan (IMPLAN) inconsonance to the OPLAN IWAS SUNOG 2016.

I. PROJECT NAME: Implementation Plan (IMPLAN) for OPLAN IWAS


SUNOG 2016

II. SITUATION:

The BFP is a government agency mandated to prevent and


suppress all kinds of fires, investigate its causes, enforce fire-related laws
and provide emergency, medical and rescue services.
By virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 115-A, the month of
March is declared as Fire Prevention Month because alarming increase of
fire incidents nationwide takes place during this month of summer based
on statistics. Although BFP constantly promotes massive fire safety
awareness drives, the best time to heighten up such activities is during
Fire Prevention Month. Furthermore, involving the public to prevent the
occurrence of fire incidents for safe and fire free community.

III. OBJECTIVE
It aims to empower and motivate the public to be involved in the
promulgation of fire safety awareness as a concern of every
citizenry.

IV. EXECUTION
A. TASKING
1. MOTORCADE TOGETHER WITH LGU, PNP, AND
BARANGAY OFFICIALS WITHIN AOR. KICK-OFF
CEREMONY AND BLOWING OF HORNS.

2. INTENSIFIED FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS CAMPAIGN


a. Posting of streamers/ banners bearing this year’s fire
prevention theme “Kaalaman at Pagtutulungan ng
Sambayanan, Kaligtasan sa Sunog ay
Makakamtan”.
b. Coordination with local Televison Cable Channel
(Pakil SATT Cable) to allow BFP Public Address
regarding “Oplan Iwas Sunog” to appear in their
program
c. Encouragement of religious groups (Catholic Church,
Baptist Churches, Christian Churches) to allow BFP
personnel to deliver message right after or before
their worship.
d. Coordinate with different schools within AOR to allow
BFP personnel together with “BERONG BUMBERO”
to deliver same message after every flag raising
ceremony.

3. UGNAYAN SA BARANGAY
a. Distribution of IEC materials
b. Lectures on fire prevention
c. Fire disaster emergency evacuation planning
d. Conduct of fire drills
e. Monitoring of all hazardous operations/ structures and
premises in their area
f. Identification of fire prone areas and conduct of pre-
fire planning activities

4. OPEN HOUSE
a. Familiarization on the use of fire trucks, and its
accessories.
b. How to prevent fire
c. How to mitigate the effects of El Niño phenomenon
