CONTENT Guidelines in Making Conclusions
LEARNING At the end of the discussion, the students will be able to:

1. draw conclusions out of the given situations;
2. explain the guidelines in making conclusions;
3. form logical conclusions out of the given research
findings.

PROCEDURE
PRE-ACTIVITY
A. Review
Ask learners the following questions:
1. What activities have you experienced when you gathered your data?
2. What research processes do you have to undergo after you have collected your
data?
Lesson Proper

A. Activity
Group Activity:
ACTIVATE ME!

The students will be grouped into five. They should name their groups based on a
characteristics of a good researcher. The groups draw activator card numbers with
situations to answer in 10 minutes.
1. As you walk down the streets of Naruangan, you come across a house with
overgrown grass that reaches waist-height, no lights in the windows, and the paint
is already peeling off the siding. What might you think about this house?
2. Most teachers observe that every planting, harvesting and drying season, most
SMAW students get absent. What might you think of their socio-economic status?
3. Attendance sheets show that students of Naruangan and Palca always come late in
their first period morning class despite being so near in school. What might you
think of their attitude?
4. When exposed to dust, perfume and powder, some people sneeze continuously
with teary eyes and itchy nose. What might you think of their health condition?
5. Teachers and students in TVTS have been preparing the school grounds and
classrooms for the incoming evaluation for the BEST IMPLEMENTER IN
BRIGADA ESKWELA. What might you think of the outcome?

Differentiated Instruction:
The groups should present their answers through the following:
Group 1: Present your answer through a slogan.
Group 2: Present your answer through a poster
Group 3: Present your answer through a line in a public speech.
Group 4: Present your answer through a classroom set up.
Group 5. Present your answer through a radio broadcast.

B. Analysis
Ask the following questions:

1. How did you find the activity?


2. What insights did you get out of the activity?
3. How did you get your answers?
4. What part of the activity interests you?
5. What part of the activity did you find difficult?
C. Abstraction
The teacher facilitates the discussion on Drawing Conclusions
1. The teacher asks the students to give their ideas on what Conclusion is using a
concept map.

CONCLUSION

2. The students are asked of their ideas on how to write conclusions.


3. The groups are assigned with numbers. Each number constitutes a guideline in
writing conclusions to explain. Students in the group choose a representative
to explain some tips in writing conclusions.

D. Application

CONCLUSION WRITING CHALLENGE:

Write a conclusion from the results of the following researches in various fields.

1. Boys are a bit more likely than girls to view social media as a space for emotional
connection with their partners.

significantly increased due to the use of cell phone.
